Alison,It's actually "The Reading Woman" (I took it down to check the title), and it was a gift from a friend, but it's made by Pomegranate. This month is La liseuse by Georges Croegaert.
I have two wall calendars, one is called "reading ladies" and it's classic paints which feature women reading, and the other is a twilight calendar which has character pics every month. :)
Stella, have you read the rest of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series? I read Outlander years ago and loved it, and now I eagerly await each new installment. (since the books are so long she takes quite a while)
Favorites for this year:Jane Eyre - I can't believe it took me so long to read it
the Twilight Series - pure escapism who could resist?
I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell - not great literature and extremely offensive, but so funny that I almost wet my pants laughing.
I think Logan learned from his upbringing. because Mitchum was such a crappy dad, I think Logan would do his best NOT to turn into his own dad, therefore making him at the very least good dad. Plus, Rory grew up with Christopher flitting in and out of her life, I don't think she'd put up with that from the father of her kids.
I think if Rory married Logan, she wouldn't have to kiss her dreams goodbye. She'd accomplish everything she wanted to, but she wouldn't be happy because she'd never know if she did it, or if it happened because she's married to a Huntzberger.
"Logan" is doing a movie called "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" based on a book by the same name.. he's playing the lead character Tucker Max. The book is memoir about a lawyer who's a complete @ss. (Haven't read it yet, but it's on my list... and I'll def. see the movie... I *heart* Matt Czurchy)
I like Jane Green's earlier stuff. (Jemima J and Mr. Maybe) I love Marian Keyes. My favorite of hers is Last Chance Saloon, but I also really like Sushi for Beginners, and the Walsh girls books are good too (and can be read as stand-alones). Janet Evanovich is one of my all time favorites. I love the Stephanie Plum series. I also liked Meg Cabot's Queen of Babble series. I liked Caprice Crane's 'Stupid and Contagious' and Mary Kay Andrews is cute too, if you're in a southern mood.
I haven't read any Plum Sykes yet.
See I would go the other way from Jamie and Laura Leigh... I adored the books in the way that a 16 year old girl does. being 30 it was like a time warp back to my teens to be obsessive crazy about something. The movie was fun enough, but I would see it first because the books are so much better. it may be a better movie if you don't know what you're missing. when you've read the books there are certain scenes you expect or you get annoyed with some of the adaptations. (you know, I can't believe they left X scene out...)
then you can read the books and learn the whole story.
actually, if anyone has seen the movie and not read the books I'd love your perspective...
I think it's Gilmore Girls because ABC Family which shows the reruns just started over with the pilot today, and the last episode friday was the finale from season 6. (I wish they'd show season 7 too, I'd like to rewatch that season again)
Rory: Say hi to William and Harry for me.
Logan: I love you Ace.
Rory: That's so much better than 'Say hi to William and Harry for me.'
I love that Rory's thoughts of London go to Harry and Wills.
I love the episode Friday Night's Alright for Fighting, and one of my favorites is at the end, when Lorelai, Rory, Richard and Emily are all having it out. Emily is recounting what she said to Shira (Logan's mum), and how she should have called her a Cocktail Waitress Lorelai: "ohhhh, that's my mother's version of the C word!"
My husband and I try to do a "12 days of Christmas" countdown and watch our favorites in the 12 days preceding Christmas... Some of my favorites are:
- Love, Actually
- Mickey's A Christmas Carol
- The Santa Clause
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
- White Christmas
- Scrooged
and I am looking forward to Four Christmases this year in the theater... it looks funny. :)
Shari, that's a great "line" (or non line as the case may be)another of my favorite non lines is from that episode... it's Paris's little thumb jerk/leg kick/fart noise combo when she's trying to beg money for the pay phone to call Doyle.
Eliza, which cheating are you referring to? Rory and Dean while Dean was married? Or Logan and Rory "when they were on a break" (sorry for the Friends reference, but that's what it always reminds me of)As to Rory and Dean (while married) - I thought that was poor form on Rory's part (and Dean's as well)
As to Logan and Rory - bad form on Logan's part, but given the situation and his mindset, not as bad as Dean cheating on his wife with Rory.
Tonight is the episode where Rory and Dean break up (for the 2nd time), and it's the beginning of the Logan era... I do love Logan, he's so nice to her trying to make her feel better. He may be a bit of a snobbish cad, but he's still my favorite.
It's so hard to pick just one...as a small child: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day - Judith Voirst
as a slightly older child: The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett
classic: Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen OR The Three Musketeers - Alexandre Dumas
contemporary: Harry Potter OR Twilight (they're both just so good to get lost in)
Does anyone watch the reruns on ABC Family? Currently the episodes are the ones from season one, and right now Tristan (Chad Michael Murray) is on there, and is it just me or is Tristan how you imagine Logan to be at that age?
I love Lane too! I love that her taste is all over the place. you might try episode scripts... I know the episode where she's trying to place a drummer for hire ad there's a pretty good list of stuff. (she keeps coming out of Rory's room talking to Lorelei and Rory about bands on her list that she could maybe cut to pare down the word count).
I love Chris. I love Chris and Lore. I was all for Chris and Lore until she and Luke finally got it together. C & L have this great history together. They knew each other so well. but the timing was ALWAYS off for reason, it wasn't meant to be.
Luke and Lorelai just fit together. They compliment each other with out NEEDING each other.
I hear you Michele! U2 is my all time favorite band. Joshua Tree is my favorite album, but Rattle and Hum comes in a very close 2nd. I am all about the old school music. sometimes, nothing is happier than 80's pop. :)
