Sarah wrote: "YES! The most disturbing so far was the scene with his 15-year-old selves. Very strange. It's a question for guys though. Would they if they could?" I thought that part was very random... and I really don't know if it was needed....
Oh wow... well I think that it will be better than you think. The actress that plays Clare did The Notebook very well. I like her in these kind of movies.
I am currently reading The Historian. I like it but it is so slow sometimes! It has taken me 6 weeks to get 1/2 way through it! However I cannot put it down because I still do want to know what happens.
1. The Portable Dorothy Parker2. Hamlet
((I know that Hamlet is not that long but to fully absorb what Shakespeare is saying, in my opinion, it should take a person more than a month to read it.))
I just finished the book last night and I absolutely LOVED it!!! I don't think I like what happened between Clare and Gomez... But mostly I don't like Gomez all that much... Harry and Clare spent so much time in pain and waiting (mostly Clare on that last one...) and they had such a small amount of time to be happy. But there was one line Clare said that stood out to me: "But don't you think," I persist, "that it's better to be extremely happy for a short while, even if you lose it, than to be just okay for your whole life?"
I think that this quote from the book describes the book perfectly.
Oh I felt the same when I was reading it. About 1/2 way through it finally got really good. You just have to stick out the slow parts.
Yea at first I was very upset that she did not love Laurie and did not enjoy the fact that she was obviously going to be with the "old guy". But after thinking about it I now "get it" too. :-)
I finally finished the book! At first I was not a big fan but as I got into it a little more I started enjoying it so much more. And now I have to say that it is a VERY good book! Now when Beth died I do have to admit that I cried for almost the rest of the book...
I think I would have liked the book so much more if Jo had not been given so many dark days! I was yelling at the book because it wasn't fair. But I do love how it all ended. I think that Mr. Bhaer was a perfect match for Jo because she is young with an older mind and he is older with a younger mind! They fit so perfectly!!!
I now want to read Little Men and Jo's Boys!!
1. The Hunchback of Notre-Dame by Hugo, Victor2. Brave New World Revisited by Huxley, Aldous
3. The Portable Dorothy Parker by Parker, Dorothy
Has anyone seen any boardgames about books?I found one that is sold through a private company. It is kind of like Party Light or Avon. It is so awesome! They have questions about who wrote a book or what the first line came from... stuff like that. I wanted to buy it SOOO badly, however it cost $60 and I didn't have the money at the time. :-(
