A great container gardening book that I keep on my shelf even though shelf space is at a premium and I now primarily use the garden beds instead of containers as I used to is: McGee & Stuckey's Bountiful Container: Create Container Gardens of Vegetables, Herbs, Fruits, and Edible Flowers (http://www.amazon.com/McGee-Stuckeys-Bou...)It gives great ideas for varieties to choose for container gardens as well as some great ideas for planting different kinds of gardens in each pot.

Thanks Lianna! I'm off to to download that podcast to have a listen as I'm at the beginning of The Omnivore's Dilemma too - I'm in the corn section still. :-) I've read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and enjoyed found it enjoyable as others have mentioned. Another book I read recently and highly recommend is What to Eat by Marion Nestle.
