Bluejane's comments from the The Janette Oke Fans group.

I did not enjoy the movie! I only saw Love Comes Softly, I don't think I even watched all of that. I think they butchered Janette Oke's beautiful series. Not only by not following the book, but the actors/actresses were terrible, and things were not done the best they could have been.
So I would have to say I like the books much better. :)

I know what you mean MJ! Sometimes when I write I think about what it would be like in a movie and just hope if they want to make a movie out of one of my books they do it while I'm still alive so I can put my foot down if it gets to "off."

I did not enjoy the Love Comes Softly movies. I did not think they were made well, I did not think it was good acting, and it bothered me that it was not like the book AT ALL!

I would have to say that my favorite Janette Oke book would be A Bride for Donnigan.
I LOVE that one!
I also like the Love Comes Softly, and the Canadian West a lot, but I think A Bride for Donnigan is my very favorite.
