the book has its ups and downs, i am just about finished, and it seems like every 3rd story really hits the mark. i agree with you about opening with Guts, there is no real coming back from a start like that. hey, they can't all be magic

definitly not one of his top works. it was almost to easy to read, and i seem to veer towards his more in depth works that require some deciphering

7 i suggest Rant, it has his special brand of humor and morbidity. i would say this is one of my favorites, not near as heavy and graphic as Haunted. palahniuks version of light reading
