I'm glad all of you are getting excited to read the book. I just need to finish reading The Princess Bride and then I'll be starting Twisted River, too!
Has anyone started reading Last Night in Twisted River yet? I found some questions about the book on Litlovers.com and I'll be adding them periodically in order to generate some discussion. As always, please be sure to clearly mark any spoilers.1. Like a number of Irving's novels, this one is concerned with a father and son. What is the relationship between Danny and his father Dominic? And how would you describe each of the characters?
And since Lilly already bought The Glass Palace I think we should all read it with her next month!!!!
Ugh Elena, I'm sorry you're having a problem with your GR email. I told Fiona that she should nominate The Glass Palace again next month because I want to read that too!
We did a "vote off" (poll #19) beginning 12/1 and ending 12/3, and Last Night in Twisted River won by two votes. I sent a message about the "vote off" poll to the whole group so I hope you got yours. It should have been in your "inbox" here on Goodreads.
Congratulations, Dan and everyone else who has done it already. I've read 75 but haven't listed them in months. I wish I would have kept up with it.
I just bought:Last Night in Twisted River A Novel by John Irving, Push A Novel by Sapphire, Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle, Magyk by Angie Sage and Shogun by James Clavell (which I actually got a few weeks ago).
I just finished Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. I really enjoyed it, up until the ending, which was kind of predictable and flat.
I just bought Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum, True Compass A Memoir by Edward M. Kennedy, Behind the Scenes at the Museum A Novel by Kate Atkinson and Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay.
