6968 I saw the movie, and I agree with Julie the book was much better.

6968 Jneni I read The White Tiger last month and I really liked it. It took a little while to get into it, but once I did I couldn't put it down. Let me know what you think.

6968 I just finished The Luxe by Anna Godbersen. Great YA novel set in the late 1800's in NYC. A definite must read.

6968 The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

6968 Vonney, The Handmaid's Tale is my first Atwood book. I have been told it is probably one of her best ones. I also have heard good things about The Blind Assassin, but I have not read it yet. Handmaid's Tale won't disappoint.

6968 Books generally don't make me cry as much as they make me sort of weepy and gasp out loud saying "Oh my God"! I also became emotional when reading The Last Lectureand Three Weeks with My Brother I think that these are two really great books.

6968 I just finished The Handmaid's Tale. I can't believe I waited so long to read it. I thik it was worth the wait. I really liked it, but it did leave me with some unanswered questions at the end. Since the group read this one before I joined, maybe someone could share some insight as to what happens once Offred is escorted away.

6968 Yes Jessica. I read American Wife when it first came out. I liked it. Some parts were a little slow, but I too enjoyed reading Prep and I had high expectations. I did enjoy American Wife (apparently it is suppose to mirror the life of Laura Bush, but I am not so sure about that). Overall it is a good read. Great for the beach or just sitting outside in the yard.

6968 I have to agree with Mandy. I loved reading The Kite Runner, and the film was just as good.
