668 Well, this is good to know. I've invested a lot of money in picture books and I plan to reap the returns.

I think I pretty much stopped reading picture books around seven. But even then my books had pictures~~but they were regular chapter books with black and white illustrations.

668 I was lurking on another board and a poster said her four year old was growing out of them. Say it isn't so!

668 My favorite is probably The Snowman.

But we read Flotsam yesterday. The David Weisner (sp?) books are good, too!

668 Oops! Just changed Dora's Thanksgiving to Franklin's Thanksgiving in my shopping cart. Decided Dora was getting too babyish.

668 I'm thinking of buying some.
On my list are:
Dora's Thanksgiving
Arthur's Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving at the Tappletons

It is hard to find good Thanksgiving books. They tend to be rather preachy and boring, IMO.

668 I broke open our tapes of a Roald Dahl collection yesterday. It's read by the author and was very well done. Very cool British accent!

It cost about 25 dollars and has four tapes with five different stories.

668 Jackie, if you like books with Asian characters, you should try Ken and Amy Visit Grandma. It is really a great book. It is originally by a Japanese author and translated into English.

I also like Keiko Kasza. We have Don't Laugh, Joe and another one where animals run away and climb up a tree (can't remember the title.)
