668 Sometime around 1980 or so, I picked up a book in a doctor's office. It was about a girl who had a basset hound, and the hound would sit on her steps with its tongue hanging out - maybe it wasn't her dog. Anyway, she was involved in some kind of adventure or intrigue, and in the middle of this book there was an illustration with all kinds of dashed lines, showing her movements all around the dog, who was at the center of the illustration (still with his tongue hanging out). That is all I know or can remember about it. Does this ring any bells? Thanks in advance.
668 Susan,

Thank you _so_ much. That IS the book. I'm ordering a copy now - my brother-in-law and I have been looking to get a copy for my sister for years now.

Mike

668 This was a great picture book that I read as a child with 4 short stories in it with these characters: Greedy Grimes and the Bad Ship Sloppy Slop, Lonesome Lewis, Milk Pail Peters, and Freddy Firebug. Can anyone tell me the author/title? It is a terrific book but I can't find it anywhere.
