I'm very interested to see the books people recommend here! I've not read much homeschooler fiction at all - I think it's an underused and underexplored element. That's one of the reasons I write it. :)
I did not know that! I am going to have to check this out. I actually like techno, so Port Blue might be my style. :)
I've done some works that probably classify as breaking the fourth wall, but nothing significant - yet! It can be quite fun if done right. I'm not sure I've ever pulled off true second-person.
You are my new best friend! I usually write the ending first, also, and then write the rest in who-knows-what-order. It can make for a messy first draft, but I find it's easier to keep the juices flowing that way.
7 pages is awesome progress! Keep it up! I haven't started yet. I need to do Peter's Angel first.
I don't think I've heard any of those songs (at least not recently), but I'm just getting into lyrical music. For awhile I listened to basically only instrumental - and still do mostly instrumental, since it's better for writing. :)
Yes! Writing based to music is a lot of fun. I've not written a lyrical song into a script before, so this will be a good exercise.
I've seen Secretariat, but now that you mention it, I can't remember any music in it. But I remember they used an excerpt from Job.
Now that's an idea I've never thought of. Change mediums to help plot the story. Sounds fun!
Random is fine with me! Get your pages in today?
That's awesome that you're adapting your own novel to script. Should make it easier to plot, too! :P *is stuck on plotting with a couple of her scripts*
*laughs* I haven't seen Atlas Shrugged, but that's probably just as well. ;)
The OC song was just random stuff I found on YouTube and liked well enough to share. :D Be Thou My Vision is for the script, though. I'm really excited about it - hoping to rewrite the prologue tomorrow!
Oh, so you're doing a script version of your NaNo? Is that your NaNo from last year, or the one for this year? That's really cool. :)
I've been working on one of my scripts, a dystopian thriller, today. I have great ideas for the prologue involving a hymn. Should be fun!
I'm in! I am going to work on various feature scripts and add the pages together. I've been neglecting my scripts for my novels, so this is the perfect motivator!
Howdy! I'm Aubrey Hansen. I'm technically not a teen anymore, but I write and read primarily YA. :) (Jessie said 20-somethings who liked YA were allowed. ;) ) I'm a self-published author, produced screenwriter, and forum moderator. I write mostly fantasy, sci-fi, and contemporary, but will work and read in any genre. I've done NaNo and am doing Script Frenzy this year. Yay!
Glad to meet y'all!
