6552 Hi, Tiffany.
That is still on my list--thanks for the update :-) Currently, I am reading Finding Flow The Psychology of Engagement with Everyday Life, and part of the discussion is related to some of the tenets of Unreason: he discusses the "bread and circuses" policies of the Roman empire and how mindless entertainment has replaced mindful leisure, or bettering ourselves. Interesting. Thanks again for the update--looking forward to reading Unreason :-)

6552 Hi, Tiffany.

Let me know what you think of it! I have the book and hope to read it this year (so many on the "to read" list--both actual and mental lists).

I'm afraid I haven't had a chance to pick up a book recently, been busy moving to a new place."

6552 Hello, Everyone.

Happy New Year!

What are you reading Now? Of course, the full question is, "What are you reading now that was discussed on the Daily Show or Colbert Report?" :-)

I am reading God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything--truly excellent, and can't put it down!

6552 Hello, Bev.

I saw the show and found myself laughing out loud at the interview. Good call :-)

6552 Hi, Aram.

About Colbert: that's why I did not mention him in my previous comment. Hard to know what he really knows sometimes! He does an awesome job staying in character--love it.

I added your book to my "to read" list. Looking forward to reading it. Looks like Goodreads readers gave it some excellent ratings for being well written and captivating--congratulations :-)

6552 Hello, Aram.

That's one of the things I like about Jon Stewart: he actually reads the books before the interviews (with a few exceptions). Novel concept, eh? :-)

6552 Hello, Dinh.

What a small world! I live in Sacramento. Like you, I am a UC grad (SB), but that was a long, long time ago :-) Now I teach college freshmen and sophomores at a local college--a lot of work, but a lot of fun on the other side of the podium.

What made you think of starting this group? I am glad you did, and think it was an excellent idea :-)

6552 Hello, Dinh.

Tough question!

I'm going to take the easy way out and simply list authors whose books I've bought after seeing their interviews on one or both shows:
Sarah Vowell
Thomas Friedman
Susan Jacoby
Bob Woodward
Harry Frankfurt
George Lakoff--just picked up The Political Mind today. (By the way, The Political Mind is not yet listed at Goodreads, and I am not sure how to submit it, so I linked to Amazon).

Those are the first off the top of my head. Who do you think was the best book guest?
