62938 I actually won't be able to attend after all as well. I'll be working at the Texas Book Fest on Sunday. My second job has a booth there.

Maybe I'll see some of you? If anyone goes on Sunday stop by the Bookwoman booth and say hi.

62938 So I realize I haven't participated since the first official hang out (which oddly enough was also a Jacqueline Carey Novel and just Jackie and I) But I plan on trying to make this next one. Carey is pretty much my favorite author and I've already read the first book. So If I can, I will be there, wherever it is being held now.

I've been keeping up with the comics since they started. Actually not too bad. I liked how season 8 ended. It set up nicely for season 9 and I'm liking that one more so far.

I nkow I'm a little on my own on this one but the one person I could not stand is Kennedy. I HATE her. She's not good for Willow at all. I like that they tried to give Willow pretty much the only happy ending in the relationship department, but why her? Kennedy was arrogant, self centered, and I didn't think she redeemed herself enough in "The Killer in Me." (the one were Willow turns into Warren after kissing Kennedy) It felt like Kennedy was just "I'm gay your gay. Obviously you and I are supposed to be together" Hated it. I miss Tara ;.;

62938 I would like try to go be involved in at least some. I'll have to see how work is going to look for me. Now there's new management as well so it's up in the air for me.

62938 My favorite episode is Season 7 Episode 5, Selfless. Of course it's very much centered around Anya. I just think it had the greatest impact in relation to her character.

62938 I constantly re-watch the show. I'm huge huge BtVS geek. I met Clare Kramer at a con and she was AWESOME. Plus she was already my favorite villain.

My favorite character though is Anya. I feel like she had the best character arch in the show.

62938 As it turns out I will not be able to make it today. Anniversary comes first. :)

62938 So as it turns out I might still be able to come, but only for a little bit. Is the place settled on then?

I felt the same way after the first three books. I started reading Kushiel's Scion fully intent on hating Imriel simply because he isn't Phedre. I actually LOVED the second set of three a great deal. It really surprised me but I really really like and respect his character. I would muscle through the doubt and keep reading if I were you. I bet it'll suprise you.

62938 Awe. Sadly, well not exactly sadly, my 4 year anniversary is the 9th so I'll have to skip another in person hangout. I'll try for the G+ one again. I'll also be totally up for the live view party. Any ideas on where that one will be?

62938 As I think I stated I start a new job, today actually, so I have no clue what kind of availability I will have. So I'll either have to fill in my times later or just show up when it happens if I'm free. (much like the last hangout out when I showed up in pajamas >.>)

62938 TRying to go to it. Posted on your separate thread as well ^-^

62938 My girlfriend and I plan to go. We went a couple years ago because she was a featured artist (I got in free for that yay!) So she's going to try doing that again, but if we can we're both planning to go.

62938 I really wish I could have gone! I was actually seeing Hello, Dolly! at the time in San Antonio though so at least it was worth missing it. I am determined to make the next ones though! I just got a new job so I'm hoping I won't have to work around it too much.

62938 Honestly as we've seen from the videos it seems difficult to ever stay on topic. That's a good thing though in my opinion. I like having all sorts of things to talk about. This is a book club yes but it doesn't have to exclusively be about that. It can be a social meeting were the MAIN focus is this book. I can honestly say I've finally read two of the books the group has done. One I had already read a few years ago, (Kushiel's Dart) and the other I recently read. I finally actually read Grave Witch because the author was signing autographs at a local B&N. So point being I have no doubt not everyone will read them, if anything though this group makes me want to try harder to find the books so I can participate more. We can just see how things go. I agree that these first few will most likely be just meet and greets until we get our core group finally established. I know Jackie and I talked about EVERYTHING on the first meeting and I think we briefly touched on the books.

62938 If the next hanout is Friday, Saturday or Sunday of next week I'll have to miss again. Going to San Antonio to see Hello Dolly with my girlfriend's grandmother. As much as that sounds made up it actually isn't.

62938 I'm still good for whatever as well. I've got a lot going on the first half of August still, but after that it's back to my boring nothing schedule. I can still work on meeting for the August ones once we settle on a time.
Jul 26, 2012 02:37PM

62938 I'd be down for that as well. My schedule should level back out to boring soon so I'll be able to plan for it more often. I like the idea of hitting up a few different places. Maybe we'll find the "It" spot for the group. Or maybe alternate with a couple places. We'll see.

62938 Sad. I'm glad it seemed to be a bigger meet up this time.

So how often does everyone think the meets should happen? Once a month seems doable but also seems boring in a way...
