True Evil

I just listened to True Evil by Greg Iles. Has anyone else had difficulties with the CD or was I unlucky? Disc 1-2 was a really fast paced story. Then around Disc 2 or 3 the story began all over again without warning, with extra details. It took until Disc 6 for all-new stuff to run smoothly. Very annoying!

I'm listening to Elizabeth George's A Place Of Hiding.

It's quite good, but I almost gave up around disc 3 because it seemed very padded, and long-winded, and I do not like the heroine at all... too whiny and self-obsessed.

Since I'm from Guernsey (where the story is set), I find the narrator very irritating. She pronounces almost every name, place name, and local delicacy incorrectly. However, that is not going to be a problem for most listeners.

The author's research seems to be excellent. I'm on disc 8 (of 19, I think) and am hooked.
