596 I enjoyed Hearts in Atlantis also. I really appreciate Stephen King after some less talented authors.

Yes the audio versions of both books. I may have listened to 70 books last year but these two stand out for me.

I enjoyed reading his "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" which is also off the beaten path an involve a sequence of strangely linked events. I wonder if some of his characters represent Arcetypes.

I put this on my Audible list. I enjoyed "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night" and this sounds good.

596 Hi Barbara, Recorded Books LLC produced Edgar Sawtelle and the reader is Richard Poe. He also read a lot of the Dan Brown books- Good reader.

596 I am listening to The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. Highly recommended expecially if you like dogs. Last month listened to The Art of Racing in the Rain also excellent with a dog theme. Also just finished Waiter Rant which I enjoyed having been a waiter in college.

596 Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I do not think I could be a narrator, though.

596 I'm listening to Marley and Me and Free Food for Millionairs. I'm at the point where Marley is getting old and I am avoiding reading the end. Free Food is very good writing and a good read.

596 I really enjoyed Anansi Boys and American Gods. I could not really get into the other Gaiman audio books.

596 Scott Brick was the first to come to mind. He puts too much emotion/energy into it. I think it's almost always a mistake for the author to narrate his own work. A good narrator can make good writing even better.

596 I am currenly on a Michael Connelly Jag and am finishing The Last Coyote. I recently finished Duma Key which was a great listen.

596 no activation code needed. This may be a more basic version but you can rip to one file and choose the bitrate and format for the audio file. Two other handy programs are:
1. Easy CD converter (http://www.poikosoft.com)
2. Shaungs Audio Joiner
Both of these are free and available from Download.com
I like the Cowan software as it does both operations at the same time.
