55293 LAME!!! Why can't we have main genres without sloppy subgenres in a bookstore? If you're going to implement subgenres, it should at least make SENSE!

As a kid, I didn't think about the bookstore being split into a "children" and "adult" sections. Now they're making that distinction. My reading goes all over the place and I find it silly to have to go to a Teen section to find books I used to find in the normal Sci-Fi/Fantasy.

I understood having a YA section. I feel like the YA section is more for adults trying to find age appropriate books than kids looking for a new book.

When I was 10-18 yrs old, I didn't look for a YA section of the bookstore. I just wandered around the Fiction area of the bookstore or whatever Non-Fiction category that I wanted to find a book in.

Bah! I read Tolkien, Dickens, Nancy Drew, Christopher Pike, Sherlock Holmes, Shakespeare & more when I was in 5th grade. I'm not sure a kid would get that kind of exposure to literature if they go into a bookstore now.

55293 Rant Phase On

Out of Barnes and Nobles and Borders, I went to Borders because I liked their layout better. It usually has a better selection of Non-Fiction as well. Well, I haven't been to a bookstore to "BROWSE" for hours in a long time because I just didn't have the time to do it. Also, the closest Borders to me was closed down a while back.

WELL, I went to Barnes & Nobles and had a minor shock to the system! Ha!

Does it make ANY sense for there to be a Young Adult section right by the kid books and a Teen section right by the "Adult" books?

Young Adults ARE Teens!!!! WHY do you need TWO sections that mean the same thing!

The Teen section is divided into New Releases, Fantasy and Paranormal Romance.... Never mind that PNR fits under Fantasy.

I may foam at the mouth if I find a New Adult section popping up right next to Teen and before the normal Sci-Fi/Fantasy area. GAH!

Prices and sizes of books. Did the publishing world go mad? What happened to standard sizes? Did that memo get thrown out the door? Probably.

I'm all for new independent publishing and seeing growth in how the world of books will change and adapt for the more techie world we're living in but the inconsistent pricing and sizes really annoyed me.

55293 If I had a steady schedule to follow, I would still like anticipating each week but that's not how my life works. My schedule changes frequently and I don't always have time to watch shows when they air. Now, I just wait to catch it en mass. I used to love seeing particular shows on certain days while I was growing up.

Netflix has an interesting idea of making a series and then releasing the whole deal on their website. You can watch it as you please and then talk about it with whoever you want to talk about it with.

55293 I haven't started on Game of Thrones yet. I'm waiting to watch several in a row. Mwahaha

Grim is good! Has a new season started?

I like Fringe a lot. S4 is definitely weird but I really like it because there are a lot of details that they've changed and others that they're sticking to in a very cool manner.

Defiance looks like it'll be fun. I'll start watching it later once more episodes are out.

55293 I'm a fan of Peter. Though, I keep laughing when I think about Peter who cried Wolf and Peter being a werewolf. Mwahahhahah!

What do you like about it? I hope it makes it to Season 2. It should be better than 1 because they don't have to follow a bad book. ;P

55293 So I watched all of Hemlock Grove. It has promise and it's interesting but I didn't like the ending. I do enjoy the cast! I feel the story is rather lacking.

I will have to check out the Syfy show! =D
