5114 Great poem!

Ah, yes... Canada Day. While the weather was nice (for a freaking change!), we spent it at home with our two kids. They had the fireworks on Saturday night instead, seeing as it was Ribbfest and all. Another year and our anniversary goes without thought... again. And I'm talking wedding anniversary. We got married on Canada Day, 2000. Last year, we celebrated at his parents' cottage cause they bugged and bugged and literally wouldn't take no for an answer. Kinda hoped it would be different this year - no such luck. There goes another year without dinner and a movie with just me and my hubby. That now makes 730 since I've been to the movies...
5114 Yeah, I'm not much on the old stuff either - although there are some really good ones. While I don't mind country, I won't go out of my way to listen to it.
5114 It's very rare that I do anything in silence. While doing the dishes, I've got music on. While reading, I've got the TV to keep me company - background noise mostly. I have difficulty writing when the kids are running around... when it gets silent, I know they're up to no good but it takes me a while to figure that out when I'm engrossed in what I'm doing. Since my husband was on full time nights for 5 and a half years (40 hours a week), the TV or music always kept me company and I got used to it, especially when writing. Sometimes music just helps with the flow. Now I prefer it - but after a particularly hard day, I'll take an hour to read with nothing on. Just to get a little peace...

5114 I sort of go with both. I make a note of what I want for sure to happen and approx. where in the book, but I go with the flow for the inbetween parts.

5114 I swear, Karen, Laughter Can Kill You is brilliant! I love it! But you asked, and I thought, and I came up with Laughter... Can Be Deadly. ???

5114 Can't think of anything right now, but if I do, I'll let you know.

Meanwhile, I don't think the title is too long. I've seen longer (ei: Real Vampires Have Curves, Real Vampires Live Large, etc...) I like the title you have now... gets a person curious just like that!
Welcome (42 new)

5114 Thanks for the invite, Snoop!

Fiction is my bag - suspense, thrillers, romantic suspense...

I don't write or read nonfiction. I get enough of reality from day to day life and watching the news (CTV National and MCTV, sometimes Global).
