4862 I loved Robert McCloskey - Make Way for Ducklings, Blueberries for Sal - and, of course, anything by Virginia Lee Burton.

4862 I just started Little Bee by Chris Cleave. So far it is very good, though I wonder about a white man writing in the voice of a young Nigerian girl.

4862 I'm reading Serena by Ron Rash. Excellent! Very dark but will probably end up being one of my favorites of the year.
4862 I read "The Road" two years ago and, after reading Hope's post, realize I need to read it again. At the time I found it astonishing but could not really express why I felt that way, what it was about the book that took my breath away. I just knew it was one of the best books I had ever read. And I agree with Ann, if everyone on the planet read the book we would likely be closer to world peace.

But first, I think we'd have to turn to each other, face the devastation of our collective past, grieve and move on.
4862 I'm planning on reading Middlemarch but I'm already taking part in 9+ reading challenges so am not sure I'll get to it!
