4862 I just picked up "The Book Thief", as I was looking it over I realized that I've already read a book by Marcus Zusak "I Am the Messenger" that I picked up a few months ago and really, really enjoyed. So now I'm ready to go, once I finish "Skin" by Roald Dahl, anyway. I always forget how much I enjoy reading Dahl until I start reading something by him!
4862 I confess, I'm behind in listening to the podcast, but I'm going to chime in anyway.
As far as Oprah goes, I may read her selections on occasion, but I always search for the copy without the Oprah seal-of-approval.
What bugs me more are the testimonials of actors or musicians about "must read" books, I always think "why should I care what they read?" I'm more likely to rely on book reviews or recos from this group because I know that they're discerning readers. A celebrity could be, but what do I really know about them?
End rant. :)

4862 Back in high school and college I read (and wrote) lots of poetry, but at some point got away from it. I really don't know why. It's such a simple way to enjoy the play of words. So I've decided that this month I'll read a poem daily from one of the collections I already own.

4862 Right now I'm reading a collection of essay's by food blogger Molly Wizenberg called "A Homemade Life", but I've decided to pick up another book so that I can savor this one!

So, I just plucked off the bookcase "The Geographer's Library" by Jon Fasman, purchased, I think, well over two years ago. If I put purchase dates on all of my books, I think I'd be quite ashamed of how long it takes me to get to them. Hey, I get distracted!
