4862 I'm reading FRAGMENT by Warren Fahy (thanks to BOTNS and Michael!) and it is Sci-Fi, but is pretty darn scary!!!
Go have a look at the video clip on Amazon.com...YOWZA~

4862 Finally...listened to the last of THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE yesterday in the car (couldn't just sit there and run the battery down!)
YES...it kicks it up a knotch from THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO for sure!
The twists were sometimes amazingly surprising!...what a fertile mind we've sadly lost.

It was ALL good...but the grand finale felt a little abrupt and forced to me.
Can't wait for the next one though!...Long live Lisabeth Salander!

Am a few chapters into FRAGMENT and it's definitely got my attention!
Also reading SACRED HEARTS by Sarah Dunant for my F2F book club.

4862 The movie Julie and Julia puts Julia Child's cookbook back on top!

AMAZING GRACIE!...based on a true story.

4862 Just started to listen to The Girl Who Played with Fire in car and think I'll be needing to run a lot more errands!
Lisbeth Salander is much more than Stephanie Plum on steroids!...this novel is firing on all cylinders right out of the gate!

4862 I'm reading OLIVE KITTERIDGE for an on-line group and am finding it very good, but haven't discovered enough yet to decide if the Pulitzer was well deserved or not IMHO. :-)

Stephanie, I agree...The Thirteenth Tale bombed for me on audio and I never bothered to pick up the book after.
As for Stephanie Plum...Yes!, she is a riot for short car rides! Doesn't take intense concentration and always good for a laugh!...she gets in so many crazy situations and is a bit ditzy! Hubby and I are slowly working through her numbered series on CDs mostly obtained on paperbackswap.com. We seem to be driving more lately, so it's been fun.

Just got back from a little jaunt to Portland, Oregon and the wine country in the Willamette Valley...famous for boutique crafted Pinor Noirs! (sorry Ann...wish you could have come too!) :-)

4862 This is bizarre! Buying the rights without reading the work first!

4862 And to get a feel for some of the lingo, here's a neat link to TWITTONARY...

4862 This link came to me from Book Browse and brings up the question of how much info a reviewer should reveal in his/her reviews. Some reviewers practically reveal the whole plot and this just doesn't seem fair to me.

4862 Michael, I'm not reading Moby Dick right now, but your quote above made me think you might enjoy this little clip someone sent me today...

Amazing! This man built his own island using local sand and ingenuity...

4862 Has anyone seen the new film just released called
FOOD,INC?
Hear it is a real eye opener as to our fast food industry and how those down home on the farm products are actually produced.
It may be hard to find...not a huge production.

4862 Thanks Sonya...interesting findings!

I participated in that survey...but hadn't seen the results til now!
