Let me know what think Summer... I really liked the way he presented info along with his experiences.
Wasn't The Botany of Desire on PBS fantastic? I really loved it. I hope it brings more people to the book!
They already have Melissa!http://smellofbooks.com/
(I'm 99% sure this is a joke, since there is no ordering info.)
Jeff, that is so funny. I can still remember where this one book on the Loch Ness Monster was shelved, mostly because I took that book out like fourteen times.
Melissa wrote: "This is why I love Books on the Nightstand and Goodreads! I thought I was the only one who read or remembered the Tripod books. I loved those books as a kid. Michael, is there really a fourth book? "Here it is - it's a prequel:
When the Tripods Came
(still haven't read that one though...)
Adrienne- I'm thrilled we could make your day, but we'd hate to be responsible for you getting a ticket!! :)
Jeff- I read The Tripod Trilogy too and loved them! I think I remember hearing that there is now a 4th book, possibly telling the story of when the Tripods first arrived...
I finally finished this and I would say that I really liked it, though I too thought the ending was a bit unsatisfying. Without giving away too much, I just feel that Quentin is way too wishy-washy at the end. After all he goes through, he makes decisions, doesn't stick by them, changes his life completely several times. That annoyed me a bit, but overall I did like it. I did find the sense of wonder that you didn't AM, but I don't read too much fantasy, so didn't have much to compare to...
Yay Carol! I'm so glad you are loving Fables. I just think it gets stronger and stronger as you read. I bet you'll love Y as well!Rita: Watchmen isn't for everyone (very, very dark), but I think it's pretty brilliant.
with the baby, I still haven't finished it!! I've got about 100 pages left, but I'm still loving it. I've heard from a friend that he thought it fell apart in the last 10 pages or so, but that wasn't enough to ruin it for him. He still liked it.

What c..."
Tanya- I've been searching and I can't find it either. I'm 99% sure I downloaded it from audible.com, but I can't find an unabridged version there either. The abridged version is only 8+ hours, and I KNOW the one I listened to was 17 or 18 hours....
Thanks for starting this thread Stephanie! Two of my favorites were (and are) Flat Stanley and The Little House.
I'll throw my recommendation behind The Terror. I listened to the unabridged audio and thought it was fantastic!
Thanks for the nice comments Jon, but you'll need to stretch out your podcast listening.... We're NOT going daily for your dog-walking!As for criminally-underrated, I'd have to say William Boyd. I've talked about him so much already, I'll come up with another one for the episode... thanks for the suggestion!
Irene- You're the second person to say how good Rethinking Thin The New Science of Weight Loss--and the Myths and Realities of Dieting is. I'm going to have to check it out!And Melissa, yay for Flavia!
The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag will be out in March. It's true... I've got the manuscript on my e-reader, but haven't had a chance to read it yet!
I too loved The Ruins for its over-the-top-ness. But it's definitely gory, not spooky. I'm having a hard time coming up with spooky stuff...
WOW! We just won Best Book Club Blog also!I feel that Thank You isn't a strong enough sentiment for how Ann and I are feeling right now.
You're all the best!!! Thanks for the continued support!
