4595 Thanks everyone for your help!

Diana - I couldn't remember all the details, hence I asked for help. No need to be snippy about it.

4595 I've been re-reading some of the books in the series, and I have a vague storyline stuck in my head and I can't remember which book it is.

Roarke and Eve fight for a majority of the book because one of his old flames comes and stays in the house. Eve thinks that Roarke is being conned and she keeps trying to tell him and he wants Eve to back off. I believe Summerset came into the picture and he was on Eve's side in this case, which surprised her.

For the life of me I can't remember anything else about the book. Anyone have the foggiest as to which one it is?

4595 I was just re-reading portrait today, and I loved her when she knocked out Maggie. But I think even better was Roarke's reaction lol. When he just said, You punched Maggie?

And then of course Eve realizes he slept with her in the past and she gets annoyed with him. But his reaction was even better than her punching that biatch out.

4595 That's true.. but he accepted being committed to her without having to haul around a probably large and heavy diamond lol.

But yeah.. I see what you're saying. She gets over it anyway lol.

4595 I find it funny that he feels annoyed that she won't take the diamond.. and yet the thing that he keeps with him isn't some fancy item but it's a button off a really bad suit.

I was always a little annoyed that he didn't understand that Eve felt awkward with the diamond.

4595 I love when she fights with the vending machines. And when she bribes people to get her an item from the machine and they always know its because she's been banned, either for kicking or hitting the machines.

4595 I have been re-reading some of the books, and I forgot which one it happened in, but Eve taped a candy bar outside her office window and Peabody saw her take it out.

She even made a comment like "Oh wow you hide your candy bars outside" and it seemed like she was being so "innocent". Peabody is def. involved.

I like the idea that it's an initiation and everyone has to at some point steal a candy bar from Eve's office. But really.... who would want to get caught, she'll beat them up bad!!!

4595 Morris!! My heart broke for him in this book. I hope that he somehow finds some peace in the next one. :(

PS - Shazzy, I'm loving the new avatar. that's going to be an awesome movie.

4595 I agree with you Jennifer. She has developed and grown so much over the course of the books espeically in terms of relationships. In the beginning she had no close relationships with people and kept everyone at a distance. Now, although she is still uncomfortable in terms of relating to others she cares about everyone and lets them care about her.

She's not quite sure what to do a baby shower, or a wedding shower, but she wants her friends to be happy. And she leans on Roarke more than she used to.

I can't wait to see where she is in the next book.

4595 Wow, that is pretty ridiculous.. I can't imagine waiting a year to get a book

4595 LOL. that's too funny. I hope that I can manage to distract myself with other books so I don't stew over waiting for the next one.

But I definitely liked how this book was a little better than the last two or three (in my opinion) so I'm really excited for the next one, hoping it's just as good. :)

4595 Shazzy - I tried to avoid even reading the blurb.. I knew it would entice me too much. but I gave in lol.

4595 I just finished this book and I thought it was fantastic! it seemed closer to her earlier books which were a little less predictable. I loved the interactions between her and Roarke, and I liked how you see the other characters but it wasn't all about them. I want to read about the main characters not background people.

Can't wait for Kindred to come out.. I hate waiting. :(

4595 I haven't had the chance to read it yet.. but I'm hoping it will be a little less like a formula. Maybe something new and exciting that is unpredictable?? lol. please?

4595 I kind of want to reread the first book again... I remember reading it the first time and just thinking, what an arrogant and sexy man. lol.

4595 aww.. I'm sure you'll go back to it eventually. I just got tired of the same story line. And they are really good books. Although some of the ones in the middle are questionable!! I have one more book here that I will read (born in death) and then i'm going to take a breather.. then go back to them.

I can't stop reading about Eve and Roarke.. I love the characters too much.

4595 Yeah, the cases are different. I mean I still enjoy reading the books, and looking through my ratings of them I've always given a 4 or 5. I think I'm going to take a little break before continuing on.

I don't want the fact that I've been reading them continuously to ruin the books for me.

4595 Maybe it's just because I've been reading the series back to back, but I'm beginning to find that the same things happen in every book. It's like they're all written with a formula.

the killer is introduced in the first chapter, eve gets called on a case, she leaks info to Nadine, she argues a little with Peabody, her and Roarke go over the case, someone on her team gets hurt, then eve finds the killer.

I don't know if other people are getting a little tired with the books.. or if its just because I've been reading them one after another.

Any thoughts?

4595 haha, I can't wait until she finds out, whoever it is, she will destroy lol.

4595 I find Summerset to be a great character when he relates with Eve. But I'm only half way through the series so I might find another character that I enjoy more. Can't wait to find out :)
