4595 That I could totally see. I agree that Trueheart many not have been able to go through with it. Then again, Baxter is doing his best to corrupt the guy. I still maintain that it is more than one department, though. The entire NYPSD is probably in on it. They probably have a whole disavowle if someone is caught and a fund for the hosptial bill.

4595 It really does.

4595 There is one good staffer who has purchased a few books for me. Alas, it is just the one and they have to be able to justify the purchase to the board. After six months, she was there for a book I wanted on the War of the Roses. Otherwise, she has gotten one series for me. However, I have been told they do not even have the budget to add new artists to their CD collection. The book selection is truly laughable. At least they carry the JD Robb books, but I am number 17 now on the automatic wait list and they only purchase on copy of the book. If you want any of her Nora Roberts books, there are at least 30 people on the automatic wait list. It can take over a year to get the book!

4595 My local library has such a bad selection of books, that they do not even hold their bargain book sales. :(. I need to log onto the nearby cities sights so I can start going to theirs. There are so many people that do hit them arouond here, that you have to show up early.

4595 Due to economic crunch I have had to tell myself no new authors. It is only semi-working.

4595 Shazzy,
I know where you are coming from. I have been known to seek out spoilers for books I am anticipating.

4595 It arrived! Now I have to get off so I can start reading.

4595 Shazzy,

I have had that happen to me before. I still swear there is a postal worker out there with a couple of my books.

4595 I am still waiting for my copy to arrive. *bleepidy, bleep* post office. :><

4595 When Sherrilyn Kenyon's Devil May Cry came out all of the American Sites were trying to keep the heroin a secret. Amazon UK had her in the discriptions. Here's to Amazon UK.

4595 Thank you for the sneek peek. I already had Kindred in Death on my Amazon Wishlist, but had seen no details about it.

4595 No, it started disappearing before Peabody joined Homicide. Roarke brings Eve chocolate so it can't be him. Could it be the maintnance and requisitions crew? They do seem to be out to get her. Remember when she thought she caught the thief and he CLAIMED he was there to set up her new computer. Sure he had the computer, but perhaps it was just a cover in case he was caught. Perhaps it is a group effort between more than just one department. Homicide, the e-detectives, and maintnance. Baxter and Feeney are in on it.

4595 It will be Morris next time who is really involved. Something bad is going to happen to him near the beginning of the next book.

4595 It wasn't a bad book. I enjoyed it. I would have liked to have seen more of the side characters as well, though. It was very much a stand alone book, so it would be good for anyone who has not read the rest of the series. The rest of us, were left missing a few of our favorite characters. There definitely was not enough of Peabody's witty dialogue.

4595 I'm not sure its been decided, but I am sure it is a character we have seen at least a few times. To have it be an unintroduced character would only be fun if it was one of Eve's nemesis from Maintnance, Mira's secretary, or Feeney's mysterious wife. Perhaps Summerset is sneaking in to her office and stealing the candy just to drive her crazy. Although, I still favor Whitney as the culprit... or perhaps his wife.

4595 That would be Feeney. He IS a very good suspect. Hmmm....

4595 I, too have read many of her other books. I don't know if I have one favorite or not. The first one I read of hers was The Villa, so it will always be among the favored. I plan to go out an buy Pagan Stone on the 25th.

4595 I, too, am waiting for my copy to arrive. Luckily, I am also on the library's automatic hold list for J.D. Robb (just in case I have to wait for the postal carrier), so I have their copy right now. :).

4595 I think its Commander Whitney.
I'm pretty sure it is not Peabody. I will have to double check, but I'm pretty sure it started disappearing before she was transferred over. For that same reason, it can't be Trueheart.
