With either of those authors, I often prefer a reread than something new from a lesser talent. If you like the darker side, seton, did you read Captives of the Night by LC? MH has a facebook page and has alluded recently to finishing an upcoming work. Does anyone have a hint about the title or topic? I haven't seen it anywhere!
Hunter's regencies are less funny and more dramatic that LC's, but clever and historical--and with to-die-for heroes. I loved Hunter's "The Seducer" and "Rules of Seduction." Of Chase, I loved "Mr. Impossible", "Lord Perfect" and L of S!!
Any readers here of those two? I just finished "Don't Tempt Me" by LC--no surprise in that I loved it.
Georgette Heyer died in 1976, although her novels are being reprinted. A few of her books are mediocre, but most are fabulously funny. I'd recommend These Old Shades, The Devil's Cub, Arabella, The Grand Sophy, and Venetia, The Convenient Marriage.
Kaye wrote: "Mary Balogh is my very very favorite. Is there anything hotter than Slightly Dangerous? "I'm rereading "Dangerous" now--one of the very best!
You say they're chronological--so I should start with the first one, right? How can I get my e-mail to you? Jaimey wrote: "B wrote: "I'm interested in giving one a read. "
Hi B, thanx for your interest. Did you have a particular one in mind? You can PM me your choice, or just choose them all, if that is your wish. :o..."
If you like Balogh's Bedwyns, you'll love Loretta Chase's Carsington brothers: Lord Perfect, Mr. Impossible, and Not Quite a Lady
Once I started on Heyer's books, I had to own them. They're cheap second hand, of course--half-price books or half.com. (Have y'all tried paperbackswap.com?) My favorites in The Convenient Marriage, The Corinthian, and Venetia.
