45400 I agree with Jenny completely! I was not really interested in reading this book but thought I would give it a chance. WWII is such a boring topic in literature because it appears to be over done. This book covered a topic that is not really well known about the war -- Stalin's treatment of Lithuanians. I loved how the author put a face to that aspect of human suffering. Another interesting subplot is Lina with men. I thought it was really touching a sweet.

I am almost done with it and cannot wait to see what happens!
