I've cut WAY back on the crafts and have been mostly reading. I've been suffering from a definite lack of ambition lately, and anything other than turning pages seems like too much effort.

45212 Maybe it's just me. I notice my husband seems to be enjoying the book much more than I am.
45212 I just finished rereading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, which also told me how to mellify a corpse, by the way. After that genuinely funny and absorbing book, How to Mellify a Corpse: and Other Human Stories of Ancient Science and Superstition seems VERY dull and lifeless.
I will finish it...eventually, but right now, it's languishing on the bottom of my stack.

45212 My parents used to have this great medical book, with acetate overlays of the nervous system, the circulatory system, muscles, etc. All of them would be folded over the skeletal system like a 2D "visible man" model. It was the coolest thing - and it surely got me interested in science and medicine.

I think we owe a great debt to Netter and all the other illustrators like him.
