Stacy wrote: "I didn't think the gag with the director of the deaf school (not being able to hear) was funny."That wasn't too funny, but I really can't believed they name a black girl Aphasia. I just can't believe not a single exec caught it.
I also thought everyone joining the deaf kids was inane and nonsensical.
Southland was 'picked up' by TNT. They are going to air the first season, plus the 6ish that were filmed for NBC, then decide based on ratings. Will be on sometime in January.
Last night's episode was awesome. And I just found I missed the last one before the damnable 'world' series. It doesn't seem like anything crazy happened in it, or at least not that was mentioned in the recap.
I personally like her better with the long hair. I went to go look at her IMDB, and for the life of me, can not remember her in heroes at all.
I always gathered a bit from the way future Ted talked, that Barney and Robin were suppose to be together... Maybe they'll get back together next season or something...
I don't think any of us have actually read the book. But from what I've gathered is that they only took the basic concept of everyone blacking out and having flashforwards. In the book people see 20yrs into the future as opposed to 6 months, and the cause is supposedly revealed quite early.
Yeah, and the part about the ghost guy was even funnier because it was the same actor(on grey's) who played their dad. Dean's little synopsis and the incessant slapping are what pushed me over the edge, I had been debating it for awhile as I still have shitloads of other stuff to watch.
Sweeps is four months of the year(November, February, May and July) when nielsen collects extra viewing data, which then is used by broadcasters to set prices for advertising and schedule changes. The general perception is the higher the ratings during sweeps, the higher the revenue for the station.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeps#Swee...
Well its been a long time since I came in this thread.Anyway, last nights episode convinced me to give up on Grey's. I've had this seasons stuff siting in my DL folder, but deleted all. Just not worth the time.
Next weeks episode looks good too. The writers are on a big spook kick, 3 eps in a row.
[Real:] Football, Rugby and Hockey are the only sports watchable on tv. Baseball is mind numbingly boring and there is, along with throwball, waay too much downtime.
But Siffy has the ability to be a lot more creative than ABC. Broadcast wants viewers, millions of em, and they will do anything necessary to get them. Including driving critically acclaimed shows into the ground.
I'm pissed about the ridiculously small 20mil casualty number. There is talk online that it may only be the US number, which might be a little reasonable, if considerably optimistic. Globally it would definitely be in the hundreds of millions(if not close to a billion).A similar thing happened with the Jericho writing, where the infrastructure came back way too fast.
Oh, and they really need to stop with the angsty sex/love scenes, I don't want to see another Defying Gravity.
I was actually a bit disappointed by that. It was a bit cliched like SGA, where the lead military guy(the biggest named actor) died right away. I also thought it was goin to happen again on SGU, but was glad when the Colonel(or whatever) got better.
