40793 City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare

Once again Cassandra Clare has written another great book in the Mortal Instruments series. I enjoyed the different and new relationships and how she was able to flesh out some of the minor characters. Major cliff hanger at the end, which always stresses me out! Can't wait for the next installment!

40793 The Iron Queen (Iron Fey, #3) by Julie Kagawa

By: Julie Kagawa

Incredible! This book had it all; action, romance, and humor. I look forward to the next installment of books by Kagawa!

40793 Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver

Lauren Oliver

Excellent book!! Lena is living in a world where the government and scientists have deemed being in love as a terminal illness. However, when she meets Alex she begins to question what she had always been taught. This book is beautifully written with happy and terrifying moments. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

40793 Bossypants by Tina Fey

By Tina Fey

Hilarious! I don't always agree with Tina Fey, but she is still contagiously funny. I listened to this book on audible, which I highly recommend. I just don't think her humor can come across in text only. This book discusses various events in Tina Fey's life and lessons on what she has learned about being an actress, producer, mother, wife, and of course a bossypants.

40793 The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey, #2) by Julie Kagawa

Title: The Iron Daughter
Author: Julie Kagawa
Rating: 5/5

Sometimes when you read a series, the second book seems to suffer. In this series, this is not the case. This book was just as exciting and thrilling as the first. The only thing I don't like is how every young adult book series has to have some weird love triangle. Why can't the protagonist be completely devoted to one person, and that feeling stays true and strong throughout? Are teens really that indecisive?

Overall though, this was an excellent book and I am ready to start the next!

40793 Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White Paranormalcy

I listened to this on audible. I thought the reader did a wonderful job at portraying all the different characters and emotions. The story is of a girl who isn't sure who she is and finds out the hard truths of her life, along the way she falls in love and makes new friends. Story of teens with a paranormal twist.

40793 Winter's Passage

This book is an in between book. It connects book 1 and two and basically explains how Megan and Ash get from point A to point B. I still thought it was excellent though, and you can see their relationship grow and then see and feel true heartbreak.

Since this book was only 55 pages, I am not sure if it should count, does anyone have an opinion?

40793 The Iron King

This book was very good. I really enjoyed all the fantastic creatures and faeries and I think that the plot is refreshing. I am glad to see a YA romance that doesn't involve vampires. I really enjoyed the tension between Megan and her love interest and I am really hoping that this relationship is able to work out! I am such a hopeless romantic....

40793 Secrets of a Summer Night

Very good story. I loved Simon, he was so manly and he evolved so much as a character. I really believed that these characters were truly in love. The book was steamy, but I guess when you read adult romance novels, that's what you get.

40793 The Apothecary's Daughter

This book was leagues better than Klassen's first book. One thing that I did not like was how Lilly dealt with the relationships with the men in her life. She just kept bouncing, emotionally, between three different men. I just kept screaming, "make up your mind!" Lilly was a strong woman but I felt she was very weak in this area. I really liked the characters and related with her struggles about her mother. Overall, very good.

40793 Hush, Hush

I enjoyed the story even though the ideas behind what angels are and are not is way off. I understand that the book is fiction, but when religious creatures/subjects are discussed, I get worried because the information in the story could mislead someone, especially young adults, whom the books are intended. I liked the characters and the suspense. So overall it was a good read.

40793 Lady of Milkweed Manor

I am still trying to figure out how I feel about this book. There is so much death and very little hope thoughout the entire book. In most books, you can see where the story is headed or who the main character will end of with, but this book waits until literally the last two pages.

I have a 14 month old child, so I don't know if I was affected more by the goings on of this story. I am going to read another book by this author and see I change my mind.

Messenger brings The Giver and Gathering Blue together. This book was very sad but shows you the importance of taking care of others.

40793 Gathering Blue

I think this book is a companion to The Giver, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This book was very good as well. Kira's story is sad because she is alone and has a disability. She is fearful for her life and when you see the community that she lives in, you are afraid for her. Even though she has a disability she is able to overcome many things because of her courage, strength, and a special gift. Now I am getting ready to read The Messenger, which is the sequel to Gathering Blue.

40793 The Giver

I really enjoyed this book. Halfway through you begin to see what it happening in the society and it really made me angry. There is one part toward the end that made me cry, possibly because I have a child of my own. I honestly thought I would have nightmares, but that is the purpose of these kind of books. They make you think before letting other people control your thoughts, future, and destiny.

40793 The Other Side of the Island

This is another dystopian book. This book was more frightening than the other dystopian books I have read. I was really scared for the characters and as a teacher, I wanted to slap the educational system in the book. I felt for the characters and cheered when they were successful. Overall, a great read.

40793 Matched

I am really excited about this series. Honestly this is one of the best books I have read. I have realized that I really enjoy reading dystopian literature. There is a inner battle going on in this book that makes you wonder if it is ok to just follow the rules, because life is good, or if you should fight against what the "Officals" tell you because there could be so much more out there. I am excited for November to get here so I can read the next installment!

40793 The Lost Hero

4/5 Stars

I loved the Percy Jackson series, but I left each book wanting more. Rick Riordan has given me what I wanted in this new installment of Greek/Roman demigods. This first book of the new series was awesome!
