Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Computer problems and a death in the family has been keeping me occupied. :(
Recently finished The Death Dealer by Heather Graham. Currently reading: Murder Game by Christine Feehan.
I'd refuse ... adamantly. I have over 800 books in my house, and I'll never give them up. I'm not a selfish person; I share everything, but my books are mine! MINE! LOL! I may lend them to my best friend, but I get them back. Otherwise, hands off my books!
Wow! I'll have to get my husband to read this thread so he can get off my back for reading so much, LMAO!
I read a total of 155 books this year, a total of 60,182 pages. Lots of those books were over 400 and 500 pages. And I calculated a little. 365 days a year, divided by 155 books, equals approximately one book read every 2 & 1/3 days.
Now, take Melissa for instance. Girl, I don't know how you did it, but using the same calculation, that means you read one book almost every 1.90 days. Kudos to you, girl!
Know what, Linnea? I hadn't even noticed the two covers don't have the same guy. 'Scuse me while I go look again. LOL!
Jess, what did you think of Exit Strategy?
I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. Sorry I haven't checked in lately, but with a funeral the week before Christmas and our hectic holiday schedule, this is the first time I get to sit down and actually get to check in. Now that we're finally home, I've got laundry coming out of my ears!
I finished Shades of Dark by Linnea Sinclair, No Escape by Shannon K. Butcher (wife of Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files)) and One Last Scream by Kevin O'Brien. Currently reading Trust Me by Brenda Novak, the first in her "The Last Stand" trilogy.
I think that's the first time I've ever seen the same cover art for two totally different books. Glad they responded and are going to clear it up.
LOL, confusing enough when the same titles are used by different authors, LOL!
Let's see... In the last little while, I started and finished:
New Blood by Gail Dayton
Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair
Wild & Hexy by Vicki Lewis Thompson
I'm currently reading: Shades of Dark by Linnea Sinclair
LOL, I like the way you think too, Shirley!
I haven't lived at home since '96, but my Dad is still bugging me about the amount of books I buy, LOL! To me, my books are my obsession, and the only cure for it is if I'm flat broke, LOL!
I haven't read Outlaw Demon Wails as of yet. Was waiting for it to come out in MMP in November but the funds haven't been there to pick it up. Hoping to right after Christmas, though.
And I agree, Jess. Jenks would in no way be the same without his wife. Rachel wasn't the same without him either, LOL! Like Heather, I also can't see the series lasting without him. He may not be the main character, but he still is an important part of the book.
Thanks for posting that, MC! I completely forgot Lara Adrian's new novel was coming out this month!
I usually use Fantastic Fiction when I'm looking for new releases. However, sometimes they do make mistakes.
Gail, finally, I started your book this morning. I'll let you know when I'm done and my review's posted.
Are you serious? Her new book is going to be HC? Dammit - we've waiting long enough for it, now it's going to be HC to boot? That well and truly sucks! Did she happen to mention if it will take 6 months for it to come out in MMP or if it will take the obligatory year?
I think those of us who have read the book(s) will mostly have differences of opinions from those who haven't. *shrug* For those who have, we compare the movie to the books. For those who haven't, have not a clue to what is missing. I'd say that balances it.
While I'm Canadian, the economy sucks everywhere.
With that said, nope! LOL! I still tuck my $20 aside from my pay every week to get two books all for me, LOL! I don't spend on myself. I buy maybe a couple pairs of jeans every year and a half, and I don't have any other hobbies, so books, books, and more books!
Bravo! Well done for Mr. 'Alonzo'. Good grief, even the stupid manager couldn't get it right. Sometimes I really wonder where they get their training.
