My favorite book character is V from the BDB series. If I could pick a movie character, it'd be Riddick from Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. Gotta love the anti-hero!
Leana, A Game of Thrones gets off to a very slow start, but it should pick up for you soon. It's been awhile, so I can't remember when it started picking up, just that it was around 50-100 pages.
It's one of my absolute favorite series, but it's not one I could sit down with and just read all day.
