I like this series, but it's the take it or leave it kind for me. I started one of her books months ago, and got half way through it and shelved it. *shrug* It gets boring and I move on. When I run out of stuff to read, I'll pick it up again.
I guess her series is a mood thing for me.
Angels Blood, by Nalini Singh is an excellent read with angels and demons... actually a little bit of everything is in this book!
1. A Rush of Wings, by Adrian Phoenix
2. Pleasure Unbound, by Larissa Ione (1/2 way through)
3. Nauti Intentions, by Lora Leigh (here tues. 4/21)
4. A Perfect Darkness, by Jamie Rush FINISHED (good start to an interesting series)
5. Pride, by Rachel Vincent FINISHED (loved it)
6. Deadly Desire, by Keri Arthur FINISHED (very good)
7. Bone Crossed, by Patricia Briggs FINISHED (excellent)
8. The Vampires Seduction, by Raven Hart (not here yet GRRR)
9. Bite the Bullet, by LA Banks FINISHED(awesome)
I stumbled upon this amazing author Larissa Ione, who writes the Demonica series. I'm half way through the first "Pleasure Unbound" and have 2 and 3 on deck. Yeah... it's THAT good!
Lora Leighs Nauti Intentions should be here Tues. I'm so siked! (love those Nauti boys)
What I can't wait for:
JR Wards "Lover Avenged" (April 28th) **Happy Dance**
LKH "Skin Trade" (June 2)**please don't suck**
Patricia Briggs (Mercy Thompson) "Homecoming" (July)
Majorie M Liu "Darkness Calls" (june 30)
I typically love the in your face kind of story, but this one I just couldn't get into either. I read the first two books, and thought they both sucked.
Lori, you'll understand once you get a few more books in. I have 10+ yrs invested in these characters, and love the series. What aggravates me is I know what an amazing writer LKH is, so when she makes me wait a year for *CRAP* that doesn't even pertain to the story,or 50 pages of recaps, and 20 chapters of porn then yeah, I get aggravated.
Keep reading, you'll see.
The movie/Tv industry is so stale, they're grasping at anything different. With the success of True Blood, I think LKH's books to tv/movies would blow those results out of the water.
I don't think the general public is ready for a supernatural orgy. Then again, it's not the general public this would appeal to. LKH has legions of fans, and if done RIGHT (very large budget) this could be amazing.
Based on the previews I was like Oh no... shaking my head, cringing...thinking they're going to totally screw it up.
So I'm watching it, and it gets to the part where they're at that little store in the beginning, where the vamp and his ha ha Fangs popped out,and I almost shut it off. WTF was that? LOL Switch blade fangs?
I'm like YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
But the rest of the show redeemed itself. I liked it.
What do you mean Bill isn't hot? Have you actually LOOKED at the man?
I'm with you Ranata. I picked up the series for my oldest who is almost 12, and she kept complaining it was boring. So I grabbed the first book, made it to page 100 or so, and agreed with her.
Obviously it gets better, otherwise there wouldn't be so many rants and raves about it. I just don't see it. *shrug*
When I run out of stuff to read, I'll pick it up again.
I just read Acheron....OMG I loved his story!
I'm reading Cry Wolf right now, and it is helpful to have read the Mercy series, if for nothing else then to understand the refrences.
1. Fantasy Lover - It's the introduction into the world of the dark hunters.

If you follow the list on her website (left to right)you will have the correct reading order.
My biggest book killer is repeated phrases throughout the series. Like Christine Feehans "Molten Gold." That drives me absolutely batty!
I just finished "Scent of Darkness" by Christina Dodd and could kick myself for not having the second book!! (but I have the third. DUH!) Hate it when that happens! Good read though.
I love Brenda Joyce! And I actually just picked up Kathryn Smith's series, but haven't started it yet.
I also just picked up Terri Garey's "Dead Girls are Easy" and "A match Made in Hell" compliments of her short story in "Weddings from Hell." (<--another good book!)
I'm one of those weird people that will basically "collect" books, grab new authors, and they sit in a to be read pile until the mood strikes to actually read them. I have the entire Cheyanne McCray series but have yet to read any of them.
LKH is one of my favorite authors, and I tell everyone that Guilty Pleasures is a boring start, however if you can get through it, it will pay off! I loved her series until Incubus Dreams, but will continue to read just because I have 10 years invested in this author and I have to know how it ends.
I have Harrisons new one, but am still on the one before it, so I can't go there yet. Love her to!!
Am I the only one who can read three or four different books at once?? LOL I have a bedroom book, a work book, a spare in the car, and one next to the computer. LOL... no matter where I am I have entertainment.
The first book sets the stage, introduces you to their strange dialog, and gives the background. Yes they do get better.
The only one I didn't like was Butch's story (Lover Revealed). I Thought that one was boring as all hell.
Otherwise I love this series.
Oh... and Gena Showlater's new series "Lords of the Underworld" is excellent! I've read 1, 2, and have 3 on the way.
There's an e-book, a prequil to this series here http://www.amazon.com/The-Darkest-Fire/d...
I just started Jeaniene Frosts second book "One foot in the grave." I love this author! Her stories are what LKH USE TO write like.
