Maybe the artist was chaneling Klimt?

I'm reading Kitty and the Silver Bullet. I think I've gone through the first 3 books in the series in three days. I'm not sure why I like these stories so much....they're short, witty. Maybe it's because she hooks up with a whole group of very practical people.

Anyway...I would definitely recommend this series for light summer reading at the beach.

I vote for Riddick, too....especially if Vin Disel is playing the role. LOVED him in Pitch Black.

I have to think a little about a specific character I'm crushing on....I think my favorite is usually the one in the book I'm currently reading.

I think the theme here is *very* practical men who know how to get the job done (whatever that job may be...) ;)

I finished reading Kitty and the Midnight Hour last night, and have started in on Kitty Goes to Washington. It's "lighter" fare than I normally read, but plenty entertaining.

2006 - Lover Awakened by JR Ward. **** Oh, man. I forgot how much I loved Z's story. I had seepage. This is why women "always" go after the bad boys.

2007 - Lover Revealed by JR Ward *** OK, now I remember..this is the one where she starts pulling in more of the next generation. I think Marissa is a character I would love to slap. How do you live 200 years, live in a medical clinic and not pick up tips on sexuality? At least the biology of it??? Still loved that Butch was brought into the fold.

2007 - Lover Unbound by JR Ward - *** OK, really some of the most smokin' love scenes in the series. WOW. Tons of character development, but wished there was more focus on Vishous & Jane.

2009 - Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris *** Only giving three stars to this one. I wanted to chuck it against the wall when I was finished with it. I hate Bill. I vote for Eric.

Update: 5 down, 4 to go. Yes, I read 3 (!) from 2006. Couldn't skip one in a series - and obviously forgot to check the publishing date. Still haven't received my next bookswim shipment; grr. It's been 12 days since I put the return books in the mail; grr.

Lori - I always see some M/M books on your challenges and you always rave about them. You've made me curious...any you would recommend to start with?

I used to watch the original series (repeats) with my dad. That was when Schatner was skinny and I thought he looked like my next door neighbor.

I think the cast did a great job with choosing certain mannerisms and speech patters that emulated the original cast's portrayal of the characters.

And the story was classic Star Trek. The red shirt, the trouble getting the ship to move out of danger at the moment they want it to move. I also thought they did a great job with Lenard Nemoy bringing him back as Spock.

I hope they do another movie. I would definitely see it. :)

mLady - my apologies. It's been a while since I've read the series and I stopped reading it because the plot stopped. That's why the ? after the book number, because I wasn't sure.

The Edward book I was talking about was him calling in a favor from Anita when his family was in danger. Was that book 9? If so, that was the last one I really enjoyed for the story.

Ok, who else thought the new Star Trek was bang ON? I loved it loved it loved it. I didn't realize the guy that played Bones was the bad guy in the Chronicles of Riddick, because he played Bones so well.

I am so buying the DVD when it comes out.

Yz - Well, I almost want to read the series over again before hitting LA. But it's sitting there on my shelf and I have a WHOLE weekend in front of me....

I will say, after finishing Dead and Gone, that I shook the book. Grr.....

I think I should have started in on Lover Avenged, instead of Sookie last night. The question is, can I really read 10 books in a month?

I'm reading the lastest Sookie. I almost want to slap her...really? She can't figure out the whole Eric thing? and why does she beat herself up so much?

Other than that, It's pretty good. Almost finished, then the debate on whether to read a challenge book or Lover Avenged. Ack!
