It really does, right? Who's smart enough to come up with one? I can never quite get the right mix of irony and pathos.

heh. Fang fatigue...that's perfect. I have it. I don't understand a damn word Richard Dawkins is saying though.
I hate to say this, but I'm getting PNR fatigue. Yesterday I found myself reading Richard Dawkins just because I wanted to feel my brain working differently. I don't know if this happens to the rest of you? I've pretty much been on a solid PNR diet for about two months now. Have overdosed just a teeny bit, I think. But am still feverishly awaiting Stay the Night A Novel of the Darkyn hah!

DH, I get the feeling from what people have been saying that you either love Viehl or loathe her. I'll be interested to see which way you go! You know which camp I belong to, heh.

My order got messed up, and book 3 has been delayed. I know, right? I was livid. It looks great though and I am dying to read it when they get it to me.
Oh there's another series? Is that the Kindred one?
Lori, had a look this morning. Sensory overload is right, whewwww.... How about those guys for book covers eh? The Lost Pirate's Lonely Wife's Macaroni and Cheese. Delicious.
So I got my Lynn Viehl consignment yesterday and sat down and literally inhaled three of the books:

I just cannot adequately express how in love with the Darkyn world I am, and what a fantastic, fantastic writer she is. Everything about her writing is compelling, finely drawn, and tense without being stretched. Her h/h relationships are beautifully balanced, and the HEA always hits the mark. And I love the continuing arc of Michael and Alex's story. I fall deeper in love with both of them with every book. I am SO pleased I persisted with the series in spite of my misgivings with the first book.
My only discontent at this point is that Viehl has called an end to the series, and I believe is writing her last Darkyn book soon. Which is no good for the universe. Planets will skew off orbit. Black holes will appear everywhere. Meteor showers will ruin crops. Keep us aligned, Lynn! Don't end the Darkyn.

Heh. I'm conscious, barely. What a studly little bit of heaven. I'm going to check out Lori's site soon, so will be expecting more blackouts.

Heh Yz, I thought you were doing it on purpose.
Michelle, you are nuts. In a nice, freckly kind of way. Like Anne of Green Gables was nuts.
Not provocative enough eh? Shall I go on a Sherrilyn Kenyon rampage? That'll learn em.
What's a beefcake Monday. It sounds like it's worth checking out. Here I go to check it out.
Finished Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh. It was...interesting. I did enjoy it, with the caveat that I would have enjoyed it more if it had been just a wee smidgen longer. It felt a little rushed, but Nalini Singh always writes achingly good h/h dynamics and I'll always love her books for that.
Finished Witch Blood by Anya Bast. It didn't rock my world particularly but it passed the time.
Next up is either a book in the Darkyn series or Angels Blood by Nalini Singh. Looking forward to them both.

No? Hmm, wonder who it was then. I remember remembering it as I was reading the book. And then I came to the scene and pow! The book died.
Did you know Vulcans can mind-meld with humpback whales?
And also, has traffic on this group slowed somewhat, or is it just me?

Hmm. I don't remember a toothbrush scene... you'll have to jog my memory.

Chapter 12:
"Ashlyn moaned. She threw back her head and arched toward him, a plea for more. He let his tongue dabble, flicking back and forth [over her nipple:], then sampled the other one, giving it the same treatment.
His blood burned for more, but he set her back on her feet and pushed her toward the sink. Soon. Without a word, he handed her the toothbrush he'd acquired for her earlier and claimed his own. He wanted to be perfect for her."
The mind boggles. It truly does.
With all due credit to Michelle M (I think), who first pointed this out.

Thanks! Hope you like it. I believe it's my favourite series of all the PNR series I've read so far.
Finished two today: Kiss of Midnight and Desire Unchained. Adrian's book was a no for me, just bordering a little too close to the whole BDB universe for it to feel original or interesting. The Ione book was better, but I enjoyed the first installment more. This one, strangely, almost does more world-building than Pleasure Unbound, which is weird for a second book. And also, Shade was probably the least interesting out of the three brothers to begin with, so I just wasn't as much into his story as I would have liked. I can tell Wraith's story is gonna be smokin' though, so will look forward to the third book.
Have also started Witch Blood which is looking okay so far. Nothing crazy exciting, and I'm having to control the tic I'm getting from how often things are 'magickal', but it looks like it'll deliver a fun read, if not an earth-shattering one.
