390 Reading The Bum Magnet, by K.L. Brady - getting my chick lit fix.
390 Not at all. {hanging my head in shame}.

Really sad, but with kindle and coffee shop at the bookstore, I just prefer to buy books.
390 No, but I am adding it to my to reads right now.

390 I'm am on the last book of the Harry Potter series (late, i know) and I am unbelieveably caught up! I didn't expect to love it so much.

There are two other books that I consider great. A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. I wept at the end of that book. It is beautiful.

The other was Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk. That book left me breathless.

390 The second book of the Dresden Files has a battle scene that goes on and on and on and at the end, there was still no resolution. By the end of it, I was too tired to finish the book. The battle wore me out and wore me out for no reason.

There are some authors that think their battles are epic showdowns between good and evil, but they are not. They are just violent struggles that should move the plot along. Now if you truly have an epic battle, i.e. Harry Potter and Voldemort, then by all means take your time. But if you just have violent struggles for power, i. e. witches and fairies moving to Sookie's neighborhood, 10 or 12 pages should be more than enough.

390 Lychee, what was the last straw for you with Queen Betsy? I really loved her in the beginning, but something when wrong with this character.

390 I have given up in the Dresden Files. I don't really care about the main character. I don't care if he succeeds or fails, if he lives or dies, I am bored with him.

I am considering giving up on Queen Betsy. The last 2 books were absolutely nuts. I don't get where the auther is going and I'm bothered by the fact that the series has gotten darker, but Betsy hasn't matured.

I'm also done wth Anita Blake. I thought the first book in the series just wasn't that great. I might read the next one, but not any time soon.

390 I just bought Mindy Klasky's Girl's Guide to Witchcraft.

390 I am (finally) reading the Harry Potter series. I'm on book 6. Love it.

I just bought this book. What do you think of it so far?

390 Let me just say this about last night's episode. Sookie is out of her ever lovin mind!

The thing that I always love about Sookie in the book is that she knows herself. She never loses her moral core and she is always very human. TV Sookie, not so much. She is getting more and more morally ambiguous and confused. She needs to come to her senses or something or the writers are going to paint themselves into a corner with her.

So this "I love both of you" thing is SO NOT THE REAL SOOKIE.

390 I would marry Eric Sinclair (Queen Betsy's Husband)

Damon Salvatore would be a fine boyfriend, but too unpredictable to marry. (Vampire Diaries)

I would cheat on them both with Eric Northman. (Sookie's man. Sometimes.)

390 I'm reading Undead and Undermined, the latest Queen Betsey book. I have to say, while I really like the series, this book is getting on my nerves. Has anyone else read it? What is with this "trilogy within a series" crap?

390 Just started Guilty Pleasures, by Laurell K. Hamilton

390 okay don't laugh, but I like Bella from the twilight saga mostly because I envy her. She has both of these boys just eating out of her hand, ready to die for her, be miserable for her, and I guess it's just polite to act like there is a problem in that somewhere. If I were Bella that story would have gone a whole other way.

I love Sookie because she is incredibly brave. Very feisty.

Queen Betsy is my girl. She just insists on love and happiness and there is nothing wrong with that.

Hermoine from Harry Potter. Seriously, where would those guys be without her?

And even though they are more minor heroines, I have to shout out Alice from Twilight and Pam from Southern Vampire Series. Both are such happy, girly vamps. I would have them both over for a sleepover.

390 I am right in the middle of Undead and Unfinished. I am enjoying it because the "sisters" get some real bonding time in this one, courtesy of the devil. Funny as always.

390 I love the Eric's. Sookie's Eric and Queen Betsy's Eric.

I hate the brooding, I-hate-being-a-monster type of vampire (Edward, Stefan, etc.) There is something preferable about a person willing to play the hand they have been dealt.

I sort of like Harry Dresdan. He's a geek and he's awkward and way too serious, and I know I would be his friend.

390 I'm having a hard time getting through Fool Moon, by Jim Butcher. It always takes me a while to warm up to his books. I'm taking a break and reading The Lost Weekend, by Charles R. Jackson. Not paranormal but sort of scary in a different way.
