Hi Douglas -I like Michael Craft as well. You might like Anthony Bidulka's books featuring Saskatchewan
P I Russell Quant as a mystery series.

Funny you should mention Sondheim, Ivan - I actually liked his non-musical murder mystery, though it got not-so-hot reviews.
Not long ago I read Born on a Blue Day, a memoir by Asperger's savant Daniel Tammet, who's quite matter-of-fact about being gay. The style wasn't perhaps the most "nuanced", shall we say, but he does a terrific job of explaining being "different".
I just finished watching a film called "House of Adam", billed as a thriller. By the time it ended, I assumed the cheesy acting, and dialogue were because it was a camp spoof. However ... I watched the out-takes afterwards, and it was honestly intended as a film to be taken seriously! Has anyone else seen it? My mind is still boggling!
It's not new - I saw it at least 10 years ago; I liked it a lothttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119248/plot...
I'll give it a shot - only other Irving I've read (which I liked) was A Son of the Circus, which had a gay aspect as well.
Thanks - I often suffer from plot amnesia shortly after finishing a book. Doesn't mean I didn't like it, but happens.
I read it a few months ago, but recall very little of the actual plot; I don't remember a gay "angle" to this book at all? I liked it, and plan on reading the author's other novel Blue.
From Katha Pollit in The Nation:" ... and Andrew Sullivan, who knows as much about women's reproductive lives as I know about soliciting bareback sex on the Internet."
He must really be notorious for that activity!
Ted - I can try, but it was a library book that I've returned, so not sure I can do so very effectively without a copy of the book to refer to?
I wanted to mention that I read Boys to Men recently, finding it quite well done (for an anthology). I'd like to see the book on being half of a pair of gay twins that Michael Gardner says he's working on (no, not for salacious reasons!).
Jon,You might want to check out the YA novel Vintage by Steve Berman, about a gay teen haunted the ghost of another gay teen.
I just finished Death of a Pirate King by Josh Lanyon - the 4th in his Adrien English murder mystery series. It's definitely better than the 2nd and 3rd ones, but the series has to be read in order for context.
I recommend Joel Perry's That's Why They're in Cages People!; I read his first book Funny That way a while ago, but don't recall any details, so didn't rate it.
Nathan wrote: "Hello everyone from the far side of the planet, locally known as Canberra. Incidentally this is the capital of Australia. I'm single, gay, in my 40's, employed as a public servant doing a rather du..."
Welcome - I've read Phillip Scott's gay murder mysteries set in Australia (largely Sydney).
I recently finished listening to Marc Acito's Attack of the Theater People, which made a good sequel, but I strongly suggest reading How I Paid for College first for context. Jeff Woodman does a terrific job narrating both.
