3579 Buck,

It is pretty conservative here in Walnut Creek, California. Thats why I don't donate any of my GLBT books to the local library. I keep all of my GLBT books until someone wants to read one of them and I know the book(s) will be passed on to someone who will not throw them away or anything like that.

3579 Do any of you think we are discriminated against throught literature? I do. My local library doesn't have any GLBT themed novels. They only have statistical/report like books that GLBT themed. Even though the mainstream book stores here have a gay and lesbian section, they put it the section of the store that no one goes near, that is in the back. I never see any GLBT themed books out on those tables they have near the front of the store. Not only that, when it comes to the gay and lesbian shelf itself, it is unorganized and they only have one or two copies of each book. Usually if I want a particular book I have to get it online cuz they dont have it on the shelfs. What are your opinions of this?

3579 As far as religion goes, I am unknown right now. A portion of it has to do with my sexuality and the fact that it doesn't go well with religon. But I'm sure once I'm married and have children I will convert to some religion. I will most likely convert to catholicism cuz the majority of my family are catholics.

3579 When did you come out? How did family and friends react? Did you face major obstacles?

I came out of the closet when I was 14 years old.I came out to my mother and she was fine with. My mom, my sister, her bf, my grandma and grandpa K. and my mentor are all fine with me being a lesbian. I don't know if my dad knows or not but it should be obvious to him by now..lol.
