I read Lock an Key, Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard and am currenlty reading Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev.
I am on facebook, but most of the people I am friends with are people that I currently keep in touch with. I have some friends who have moved a distance and its great with that. I really haven't friended people from high school, first because I am a teacher, I feel I need to keep mine real private, second because I feel if we haven't kept in touch in 10 years, why now. That's just me though
As many others have said, Just Listen is amazing. I also read Dreamland, which I didn't like as much, but in retrospect, it was more of my frustration with the character then anything wrong with the book.

A friend of mine recommended The Summoning, and then a student of mine told me she thought it was stupid. Interested in in finding out what you think of it.
Angie wrote: "Just starting book one and made it through half the book in one day. I am enjoying it so far, I don't care for the airhead comments in parentheses only because I feel like the author is trying to ..."
I got that feeling with the first one too.. I believe that dies down with the rest of the series.

I have read Looking For Alaska and really would like to read Paper Towns next. Thanks for the info!
Anna wrote: "I just finished Paper Towns and Thirteen Little Blue Envelopes. I am thinking about reading the first of the Georgia Nicholson series or back to I Capture the Castle. "
How was Paper Towns.. I keep checking the library for that one...
It's sad, but understandable, Katniss seems to be the kind of person who is always on guard and does not seem to think too highly of herself in regards to being likeable. Personally I would be on defense with the way he introduced that notion too. I am not sure I would have trusted him.

I have Dragonhaven by McKinley around but it has a very slow start and I'm struggling. >_>

How was Fade? I am hoping the library gets that one in soon. I am also looking forward to Fragile Eternity, even though I am a bit behind and still need to read Ink Exchange.
I would say initially I thought it had to do with her assumed role of Prim's caretaker. Almost everything she had done was with her in mind and this was the most natural step. There wasn't a doubt in my mind she would step up. However, I can see in her thoughts that she perceives Prim as more special than her. She feels as if she was merely tolerated in the presence of her sister. I can see both sides of it.
Peeta stated that he did not want the games to turn him into a monster, he wanted to die as himself. Do you feel that being a contender in these games changed any of the major characters? What kind of influence did the games have on them?
In a way, the games reminded me of Shirley Jackson's short story, The Lottery, except I was a little less surprised that it was such a brutal game.
I have heard some criticisms of the romantic aspect of the book? What are your thoughts? Did you like it? Or would the book have been better without it?
What do you think about the Hunger Games? What reality shows does it remind you of? Do you think it is a criticism/commentary of our society and reality tv?
Who is reading along? What do you think of it so far? Is it living up to any expectations you may have?
