I completely agree about the temperature. I thought it was such a great idea that she did that. How did we feel about the chapters being narrated by Sam or Grace? I know at times when I was reading, I didn't read the chapter title well enough and started reading then realized I was so confused because I thought it was Grace that was narrating, and it really was Sam.
Oh Wow! Congrats! I think if it is done correctly it will be awesome. However, there are a lot of books being made into movies right now and I like just keeping some of them as books. Make sense?
I have read Lament and I loved it! I thought it was such a great story of faeries and definitely had the Irish background to the story. I do think that I lived Shiver a littler better though. You are an amazing writer :-)
Ya I think Stephenie Meyer got some ideas from these stories. What'd we think of the episode tonight?
What do we think about this series possibly becoming a movie? Cassandra Clare mentioned on her blog
(http://cassandraclare.livejournal.com/33...) that this series might possible become a movie. She stated, "Now, a book series being optioned doesn't mean a film is being made right now or is definitely going to be made at all — it means that the studio or production company in question is developing the books as a film project"
I think it would totally awesome if this series was a movie! I loved the whole thing and would love to see it on the big screen. I would just hope it wouldn't ruin the story at all.
I thought that overall it was a great story. I agree with many of the other posts about it being a "flat ending". I thought that if they had some more closure on Ruby and Nate's relationship/friendship, it would have helped with the ending. I also thought the pond was such a great tie in with the story and how Ruby had her own fish who she related with. I think that this was a very metaphor to the story in general.
I doubt she'll continue the story with Nate and Ruby at the U. Even though I would love to read further. I mean it would be nice to see if Ruby's mom comes back into her life clean and sober. Or how she would deal with the whole issue of keeping Cora from Ruby.

Thanks!

Poison study is so good :-) I hope you enjoy it! How was Wintergirls?
Well it's just like he asked her to get married before they even had their first kiss. Which I guess back then was what happened. I definitely agree about there being no courting period. Back then I feel like women still didn't have a big role in the economic world. Not once did they consider Cassandra or Rose going out to look for a job, they were just poor and had to marry to get any money at all for the family.
That's a really good point Jill. I could totally seeing Miss Blossom representing their mother. When Cassandra realized that she was too old for Miss Blossom anymore and she didn't give her the comfort when she was crying on her, she finally let go of that idea of Miss Blossom as her mother. She then later remembered exactly what her mother looked like, as opposed to the picture.
I just finished reading the book, and I have to say I have some mixed feelings on the book. At first it was a little hard to get into, and then I felt it picked up in the middle, but dropped off near the ending. I guess I am a complete hopeless romantic and I felt that I was left still wanting something and not getting it. Even though many have said this should be considered a young adult novel today, I don't think I would recommend it to other young adults. I feel that the concepts of the story are more suitable to an older audience. I don't think many young adults would be interested in the story. If I wasn't left hanging at the end of the book (or if there was even a sequel), I think that I would have enjoyed this story much more.
Thanks for letting me know. Well if anyone is interested in joining a group that will read more than one book a month.. join this group! :-)http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/2095...
I know that there are other discussions on books other people are currently reading, but I wanted to see if we could possibly read more than one book a month. I know that I read through books so quickly and want something else to look forward to. Any other thoughts?
Lisa, I completely agree with you. That is partly the reason I felt it was alright to read it to my 7th graders.
The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson & the Olympians-book 2)"But the fire. How-"
"He's a Cyclops." Annabeth paused, as if she were remembering something unpleasant. "They work the forges of the gods. They HAVE to be immune to fire. That's what I was trying to tell you."
I was completely shocked. How had I never realized what Tyson was?
But I didn't have much time to think about it just then. The whole side of the hill was burning. Wounded heroes needed attention. And there were still two banged-up bronze bulls to dispose of, which I didn't figure would fit in our normal recycling bins.
**I know it's a little long, but I didn't want to stop in the middle of the scene.
