3551 Some people don't like to read a series until all the books have been published. The third book in Alma Alexander's WORLDWEAVERS series, Cybermage, was recently released.

The first two books, The Gift of the Unmage and Spellspam, were both great, but I think Cybermage is the best yet.

Granted, I am a bit biased since my wife wrote them.

If you like YA series, try:
the Worldweavers trilogy by Alma Alexander.

Earthsea books (Ursula le Guin)
Narnia books (C S Lewis)
the Hallowmere books (Tiffany Trent)
the Artemis Fowl series (Eoin Colfer)

There is the Fionavar Trilogy (marketed as adult but pretty good YA reads) (Guy
Gavriel Kay)

It is not young adult, and it is an ancient ALTERNATIVE China, not historical China, but Alma Deckert's "The Secrets of Jin-shei" has been read and enjoyed by many young readers. Be aware, however, it was not written for young adults has some material that could be uncomfortable for them.

3551 "The school?" Magpie said. "I thought the idea was to educate magidims like us for somehow making a living in a magic-run world."

"Except that it turns out we aren't all 'dims'," Tess said, "and that the teachers are far more than meets the eye."

3551 I am Deck Deckert. I am married to Alma Alexander, the author of the young adult series, WORLDWEAVERS, which is better than Harry Potter. Of course, admittedly I am just a bit biased. [g:]
