More than Words in Waltham has a new cafe. I plan to try it out tonight and will let you know what I think. It is easy to reach Waltham by public transportation.
The Harvard Coop has a cafe on its second floor in Cambridge but I am not sure whether the chairs are comfortable.
You could take the D line to Newton Highlands, and then it is about 1/2 mile+ walk down Needham Street. It might seem longer walking back with a bag full of books!
The Boston Globe is writing a story about Men who read and belong to a men's book club? Contact aucoin@globe.com to tell him about it.
Bob Delaney, the author of Covert: My Years Infiltrating the Mob, will be appearing locally, and I think those in the area would enjoy this event.

Celebrated young adult and children's book writer SUSAN COOPER discusses
the role of fantasy in children's lives. "Susan Cooper is one of the few
contemporary writers who has the vivid imagination, the narrative powers,
and the moral vision that permit her to create the kind of sweeping
conflict between good and evil that lies at the heart of all great fantasy."
You are all invited to join a group discussing:
Flu: The Story of the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918 and the Search for the Virus That Caused It by Gina Kolata of the NYT.
We will be meeting at the downtown Borders on Dec. 12 at 6:30 pm.
If anyone is interested in discussing this book about the Boston school desegregation case, you are invited to join a book group which is meeting at Borders (downtown Boston on School Street) on October 15th at 6:30 pm. We meet in the conference room near the Information Desk. The group began as a group of Duke alumni but anyone interested in this type of nonfiction is welcome.
My favorite is the Bryn Mawr bookstore on Huron Ave in Cambridge, and I try to donate my excess either to them or to More Than Words in Waltham.
