I haven' t read the book and don't intend to, but I felt this was an excellent review.

Writing that's more about the writer showing off how clever they think they are than about the reader's experience is bad writing as far as I'm concerned. I wish more readers would pipe up and say so, and maybe publishers would stop publishing this stuff. And authors would stop writing it.

Am I permitted to put forward my own book for review?

It's Shaihen Heritage Book I Cloak of Magic by S.A. Rule - a science fantasy set in a a kind of alternative Dark Ages.

It has received a number of reader reviews elsewhere, and I would like to know what the Good Reads group think of it. Quite prepared for brickbats as well as plaudits.
