31471 I am an author and blogger. I review books on my blog and then place them on Goodreads, Amazon, and wherever else is appropriate. I usually interview the writer. I would love to exchange reviews. Please contact me if you'd like to exchange reviews. My email:

Thank you. I look forward to hearing from another author!

31471 My publisher doesn't offer Kindle. My books are available as Ebooks on Barnes&Noble, and anywhere else that has e-books for sale. Could you let me know of a good publisher who does Kindles?

31471 Are the people who join in the KDP program indie authors? I am, and I'm not certain how I would be able to put free Kindle apps on Amazon. Do I just call my publisher or what? How does this work? Thanks Joyce Shaughnessy

31471 Has anyone out there had problems with It is supposedly connected with, and I have an author page but no books on my author page. It is like I am an author of nothing. I've published 3 books, and I can't get anything on my author page. I tried "Help" with the Librarians and Editors to no avail. I'm giving up. I'm either incredibly inept or the site is. I'm tired of fighting with it.

31471 I don't either, and from the discussion, I don't think I want to know about it. I have a hard enough time trying to balance promotion, research, and writing, because I write historical fiction. Does anyone have a suggestion for how much time one should spend promoting and where? Joyce Shaughnessy

31471 I wish I knew more about the internet. I even have trouble with widgets. I know that sounds stupid, but I've been writing, not promoting. Now I realize I have to promote, otherwise I'll never sell anything.

31471 If there is anyone out there from Texas, there's a bookstore where every person who works there, are the nicest people I have ever met. I'm signing there for Blessed Are the Merciful, Our Forgotten Soldiers. It is Katy's Budget Stores on Fry Road, just outside Houston. They ask me for my copies of my own books, they take 40% of sales and I get 60%, It's nice thinking people are reading it that are from Houston. They are going to pay me for 5 Hardback and 14 PB. They are really great! Joyce Shaughnessy

I forgot to say that you really have to love writing because unless your book is made into a movie or you are someone famous, you really are a starving artist!

31471 You're right. I get out of bed in order to write. I write whenever I can. It's in my blood, and I can't help it. I am definitely hooked. Joyce Shaughnessy

31471 Charles, you are RIGHT. I have spent money on promotions and written on various sites over and over and over. I'm so tired of it. Joyce Shaughnessy

31471 I have a question, and talk about dumb! I asked how much it cost to advertise more on this site. Now I cannot find either the place where I asked or the answer. Can anyone help? I would appreciate it.
I've been doing research for next book, and my brain is about dead. Joyce Shaughnessy

31471 Hello, Swaglicious! I'm so impressed that you are only 13 years old and did this. At 13, I know I wouldn't have even tried it. Congratulations! Joyce Shaughnessy

31471 What do you write about? I have some quotea and poems other people have written I have in my book (quoted). I write historical fiction (WWII) Would I blog about events I am reading about now in WWII and planning to write about in my next book? It's something I have never done before and I'm really lame at blogging. Any advice would help. Joyce Shaughnessy

31471 Hi, D.C. That's a good question. I never thought to ask. I write historical fiction (WWII) and have yet to come across anyone who writes anything similar. It would be nice to know. Joyce Shaughnessy Blessed Are the Merciful, A Healing Place.

31471 I love this group-actually all of the groups on Goodreads. I love this site. It's easier to navigate than some.

31471 Your title is interesting. It makes me want to read your book. Is it on Amazon? Have you tried the giveaway program yet? It's a nice way to get your book started on the site. Good luck!

31471 Hi, everyone! I hate promoting. My books are about WWII. Is there a group about WWII? I love to sit and write on my next book and can't think of a thing to write about on a blog. It seems kind of pointless. Has anyone here gone the traditional way of getting a publisher or all we all self-published? Promoting your own book is for the birds! I can't just keep saying the same thing over and over again. joyce Shaughnessy

31471 Hi, I'm new with this group. I wrote a healing place and blessed are the merciful, both historical novels, so I have to read in order to write. i read tons of non-fiction before I ever write a word. It's hard to self-publish and not promote because what other way is there to sell? Some bookstores are so rude about self-published books, like we are anathema. I love to read fiction, too, but admit i don't as much as I did before I started writing. I'm new at the web thing, I mean really new. Any help or corrections are appreciated! Joyce Shaughnessy
