Julia, you gave the series more chances that I have with books I didn't care for. There have been several series that are very popular that I just didn't care for or strongly disliked. :)

I'm reading The Hunger Games right now and find myself sneaking back to it at every opportunity. Like when my boss steps out for a cigarette break, I can fit in 2 or 3 pages. :)

I, too, prefer the Psy-Changeling books. Singh is one of my favorite authors and she is on my auto-buy list. I used to read the BDB books, but quit after Phury's drug book, er, I mean love story.

We are pretty lax in the group with self-promotion as long as you follow the rules (which you have!). :)

To send a private message, go to the person's profile page and click on "Send Message". That is a private message between the two of you.

And, I agree, your book sounds really interesting. Keep us in the loop on when it is going to be published. :)

3124 I enjoyed it as well, but the mist Edwards had my sister and I giggling. It was like the first time Edward "sparkled" in the first movie - we both started laughing. Personally, I think they should have just had Edward's voice speaking to Bella - not showing him all misty and evaporating. Did they think the audience wouldn't be able to figure out whose voice Bella was hearing?

I felt like a dirty old woman for drooling over Lautner - jail bait! But, seriously nice looking jail bait. :)

3124 Laura, our bookshelf is free-form... All I ask is that UF-type books be added - not normal fiction, normal mysteries, etc.

The books that we've read as a group can be viewed here.

Also, there is a shelf in our bookshelf labeled "group-read-history"... the books we've read as a group are all on that shelf.

Laura, I think it was book 2 that I fell head over heels in love with Pritkin. He is my favorite character in that series.

I forgot about Kristin Cashore's books... Graceling and the newest book, Fire. I second these recommendations! These books are awesome! :)

3124 Have you read Ann Aguirre? Her books are VERY unique... she currently has three series:

1. Grimspace, Wanderlust, Doubleblind, etc. (Sci-Fi)

2. Blue Diablo (UF)

3. Skin Game (PNR/UF... under name "Ava Gray")

3124 I finished this book yesterday and really enjoyed it. For most of the book, I was convinced it was going to be a 4 star book, but the ending bumped it up to a 5 star. I really hope we get to see more of Rose and Declan and the boys. I especially love Jack. It would also be nice to revisit William and then Declan's family. They had me laughing and I found myself wishing the book was another 30 pages so they could have more page time.

I really enjoyed Rose's character... she is so strong because she has to be. That is a nice change. Plus, she has to WORK at being strong. Magical powers don't just come to her in her sleep.

3124 I'll have to think on this one for some suggestions, but I don't agree about there being no original ideas. Perhaps the premise is similar, but the way the author's create the world, the characters, the plot, all seem refreshingly new to me.

3124 Currently listening to The Reader by Bernhard Schlink on an audiobook from the library.

Also reading The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter. I read a book in her other series, Alien Huntress, and didn't even finish it because it was not good, in my opinion. After hearing many good things about her Lords of the Underworld series, I decided to give her one more chance. So far, I'm loving it! :)

Up next is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman on audiobook and On the Edge by Ilona Andrews.

formlit, DarkHeart said what I was trying to write, but much more clearly. :) From something I read somewhere (not sure where??), this seems to be a different couple each time kind of series which is why I said UF/PNR (PNR=paranormal romance).

Edited to add: Here is the link to the author's website where she explains the difficulty of putting the Edge series in a genre.

3124 I believe that Ilona and her husband - I forget his name - are going to be doing both series assuming the publisher picks up more books in the Edge series. The Kate Daniels series is UF-focused and the Edge series is more UF/PNR. It reminds me of Ann Aguirre/Ava Gray and her THREE series! :) I say more the merrier - I love the team Andrews writing. :)
