I liked "Sandman" by Neil Gaiman and "Uzumaki", which is Japanese. You can find "Uzumaki" in the anime section of your local comic book store. Very weird set of graphic novels.I have a weakness for steampunk, so I enjoy "Ruse" and "The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen". Another good one is "Dawn". Since I've long been a Tomb Raider fan, I love the Lara Croft comic books.
One of my favorite characters is FBI Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast in Preston/Child books like "The Relic" and "Cabinet of Curiosities". He's pretty amazing and fascinating.
I read that "War of the Oaks" is one of the best urban fantasies out there, so I bought it. I haven't finished it yet.Sometimes I think Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child lean towards urban fantasy, especially with books like "The Relic". I've always enjoyed Clive Barker.
