Oh, I thought you meant her style of prose was similar. Carey's style is very elegant and lyrical, and I appreciate that. I didn't care for the plot of the Kushiel series. Alternative sexuality was pretty all there was to it, at least the first book.

I was going to see Transformers at the IMAX, but unfortunately all the good seats were taken. :( So I think we'll see The Proposal instead (not at the IMAX, of course, LOL). Nekkid Reynolds. Chyeah. LOL. Love that guy, he's hilarious. Bullock too.
I can't tell what you've read recently, since your read shelf isn't populated, but I'm going to guess it's more PNR than UF because a lot of UF has no sex in it, LOL. Particularly the detective fiction.

Everyone who's seen Terminator has been telling me it's not very good, just another action flick. Despite the trailer.

I saw Wolverine, but I liked Star Trek better. It was more complete to me, and I get tired of Logan, Logan, Logan. There's not that much to his character, let me tell you.
I really want to see Terminator. I wasn't a fan of the last movies, but this looks completely different. It looks like they put some thought into it.
Well, unfortunately, there's no direct way to do it on Youtube that I know of. You can look up "book trailer" and get some hits. What I do is look up a video from a genre I like. Usually, at the end of the video or in the "related videos" list, I'll find similar trailers. If you notice that a certain studio puts out a lot of videos that interest you, you can look at their page too. For example, if I watch a video for Anya Bast's Witchfire, I see links to a Kenyon video, a Feehan video, some Cassandra Clare, etc.
You can also check out the videos list on GR by tag (e.g. "suspense," "paranormal," etc.) I've just discovered too. Simpler. LOL. Check it out.
LOL. It never really bothered me as much, I guess because I can see some parallels in real life. There are definitely sheep. LOL.
Hey, awesome, Jennifer! Book sprees are the best shopping sprees! ;) I just wanted to warn you though that I've heard from people that Nymphos of Rocky Flats is not really a paranormal. Maybe someone who's read it can give a better idea...
Yeah, to be honest, I liked this book, but I don't think I would read the rest because it was basically an HEA ending. (We know David and whats-her-face will be fine.) LOL.
The premise is definitely new, and she builds her world in enough detail to ground her story well. :)
Hm, there is Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series. There is a transformation later on. Won't spoil. LOL. Unfortunately, I can't really recall any others right now.
Ah, well, I've already "become a fan" of my favorite authors. If nothing else, it takes up less space on my profile than manually listing all my favorite authors and that way other users can follow the links and browse the author's pages, see the latest book that I've read from the writer, etc. (It's pretty cool. Give it a try- look at someone's prof. and follow the author links.) My authors are not on GR, unfortunately.I know other authors are on GR to plug their books and if I see they're inactive or we don't share tastes then I don't friend them, but otherwise I chat with them like any member on GR. Some of them are fans of GR too and are regulars in the groups. :)
That kind of reminds me of the Mercy series by Patricia Briggs, Michael. The events in her books take place just after the paranormal creatures have "come out" to the world. And I agree with you all, the same tired old heroine and halfsies (seriously, flesh out the actual species first before you move on to variations).
Go partners! And totally agree with having complex characters. It's a little annoying to find black and white characters or conflicts. I would love more developed worlds and species too. I think some authors are getting lazy relying on pop culture to fill in the gaps. And yeah, I think we've had enough of the "I've been dead until you came along" guys.
