3124 I for one like that YA fiction is almost magical realism in that it is very declarative about what happens in the story. In books written for adults there is too often a wink here and nudge there as if to say the author knows the story is absurd. In many YA books that is missing and that is refreshing. It's almost like a story involving kids helps to suspend disbelief all the more. I'm not sure if I'm being at all clear. Let's say you have two books about werewolves(or whatever) and one is for adults and one is for kids. The adult book is going to have pages upon pages of the adults talking about how werewolves don't exist and how unbelievable werewolves are and how crazy it is that this unbelievable thing is happening. The kids book will just cut to the good stuff.
