3124 I just finished A Fistful of Charmsand I liked it but found myself wishing I could just finish it quicker so I could move on to Swallowing Darkness (Meredith Gentry 7). I like the characters but I'm not as emotionally invested in them as I am is some of my other favorite series. I find myself struggling sometimes to understand the vampire society she has created which can be a little frustrating. I will continue reading them but they will never be at the top of my TBR pile.

3124 Ladykati - hope you enjoy the BDB. It's one of my favorite series.

3124 Okay, I'm shamelessly pimping a new group I started. It's an erotica disscusions group for singles. Come on over and join us...the conversation is sure to be stimulating :)

3124 Recently purchased all of the Wolf Tales books, 1 through 6, by Kate Douglas.

Also got all of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. Some I got from the library the others I had to buy.

Waiting to be picked up at the library is "Love at First Bite".

3124 Megan, I love Cole's books and have a group devoted to them. Check us out at Immortals After Dark.

3124 Ranata, Max and Bella don't break up but their story ends before the baby is born. There was so much made of the importance of this baby aka "the sword" that I thought we'd learn more about the kid. I can definitely imagine another book. There is plenty of story left to tell.

And yes, the ending for Cyrus is terrible. We get no closure. He witnesses the big climatic battle scene between his dad and Carrie but it just ends there for him. I'm assuming he survived but there's nothing else about him in the rest of the book. There has to be a sequel in her head somewhere.

3124 Yea, the golem were kind of strange. I kept wondering how they were going to get rid of them when they no longer needed them.

Max and Bella's story would have made more sense if it had continued after she had the baby and reached some logical conclusion. Maybe there's another book to come and that union will have some greater significance.

And what the heck happened to Cyrus? I want to know how my boy's doing. I can't believe she just left it hanging that way as if he wasn't a major character that we cared about.

3124 I'm almost finished with book 3 and will start book 4 today. I was so mad when Carrie turned Cy that I wanted to smack her too Ranata. As I kept reading I started to feel a little better about it but now she has made such a mess of her relationship with Nathan. The menage dream she had! OMG! I know, I sound like a 13 year old but OMG!! I love Cyrus and Nathan. I'm sure it will be resolved somewhat in book 4 but how would you choose?
Sep 10, 2008 11:25AM

3124 Tabitha, after you've read the first one come over to the group to talk about it. Right now, I'm doing all of the talking and I'm starting to feel a little strange about it :)

3124 I wasn't sure where to put this so I hope you won't mind me posting this here...

Hi everyone! Since I love Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series and enjoy discussing them almost as much as reading them, I've started my own group, Immortals After Dark.

If you love her books too, please come join us.

3124 I loved the lost boys and even had the soundtrack. There's a scene where they are down on the boardwalk and there is a bare chested guy playing the sax. He was Tina Turner's sax player and so hot! Great song too.
3124 I just joined this group of the same name, and was pleasantly suprised that some of my favorite books are on this list. They are included in the horror chapter but are there nonetheless.

Dead Until Dark by Charlenne Harris
Dead Witch Walking By Kim Harrison
Guilty Pleasures By Laurell K. Hamilton

The Historian is also included though and I just could not get into that book and won't even finish it. I really hate to give up on books but I have way too many great books on my to read list to waste time on something I'm not enjoying.

3124 I'm almost finished with Dead Witch Walking and it definately got better the deeper I got into the book. It just seemed to take awhile for me to get invested in the characters. I think because I just finished several books that had characters that I loved. Epecially Sookie. She's a hard act to follow!
3124 Ranata, if you have not read City of Bones and City of Ashes yet, you've got to. I think you will really like them. I can't wait for the third book to come out. If I had to pick between the Twilight books and these, it would be very hard.
Aug 07, 2008 03:52PM

3124 Okay. Ya'll got me fired up to start some of these series so I just came home from Borders with Guilty Pleasures, Laurell K. Hamilton, Dead Witch Walking, Kim Harrison, Dead Until Dark, Charlaine Harris & A Great and Terrible Beauty, Libba Bray. There's other series I want to start but I couldn't find the first book so I guess I'll have to order them. Now...which one do I start first?
3124 Right Ranata! And he has no room to talk since he spends all day playing World of Warcraft! Who's the nerd? He's actually a champion water ski show skier too so he's not really your typical pale, pasty, obsessed gamer, but I like to tease him about it anyway.

3124 Somebody already probably mentioned Moonlight but I liked that show pretty well. Of course it was cancelled after one season because every show I really like gets cancelled. I've watched Supernatual a few times but never really got into it. I also liked Tru Calling and will occasionally watch Ghost Whisperer. I wish there was a fantasy TV channel so these types of shows had their own venue.
