I just discovered the 9th floor at the library downtown. There's a large, open hall that they use for events, but when I went up there, there were just a few guys scattered around, reading the paper or talking at a table, like it was a cafe with a 30 ft. ceiling. It's good if you're not going anywhere for a while.
