306 I wasn't a fan of The Historian myself, but I could see it being a good Halloween read! I think a good book for Halloween would probably be Audrey Niffenegger's Her Fearful Symmetry. I hear it's creepy.

Hi Everyone-

I just wanted to put a bookstore opening on everyone's radar! Open Books, an organization in Chicago that does literacy and creative writing programs in Chicago public schools, is opening a used bookstore! The organization has received TONS (literally) of donated books from people over the past three years, and now it is opening a used bookstore to help fund its literacy programs. The grand opening is the weekend of Nov. 21st and 22nd, and a lot of local authors will be in attendance. Once the schedule is finalized, I'll put a link up to it. The store will be off the Chicago brown line stop, at 213 W. Institute Pl. It's a really great way to support literacy while also getting great books at low prices :-)
