Just absolutely awesome, I could definitely spend some serious time in that library and oh dear, I thought I had loads of books but I can see I've got a lot of catching up to do so that's my excuse for buying more books and I'm sticking to it!
A little bit of info I learned on the weekend, Umberto Eco has 30,000 in one of his libraries and he owns 50,000 all up - wow!!!
Wow, what a great idea. I'd love the password also. And I also think it's best not to post it on here.
I've read 15 of them although I have quite a few of the ones I haven't read on my shelves to be read so eventually will get around to them. This list seems to be a list that fits these times a lot better than other lists I've seen.
I'm reading Marley and Me at the moment and it's great because I have a labrador and I'm re-living our first moments together through the book and also learning more about the breed.
I've got about 120 on my shelves at the moment and will be making a substantial purchase shortly, my last big one before saving for a holiday. Problem with all these books is it's so hard to decide which one to read next.
How generous, Roxy, no salminila!! LOL!!
Thanks for standing by, Stacy.
I tell you what though, I've rated books from a while back and recently have read some really good ones but my rating system seems to have gone out the window because the books I thought were great back then don't really measure up with the books I like now - oh well, that happens I guess but sometimes I would like to change the ratings up and down. Anyways, that my rant for today :o)
I'll put my hand up to that (she says whilst ducking). I really liked it, I'm not sure exactly why but I did.
Tera, I don't have a microphone on my computer, can I still take a course or do you need to be able to verbally speak with people?
I'm currently reading Anybody Out There by Marian Keyes, about a quarter of the way through and so far I'd rate it a 3 star book but I think it will end up being 4, it's keeping me turning the pages and once I get over the next little bit the story will take a different turn I'm guessing, like I won't have to play catch up to be up to speed with the main character.
I'm also leary of the same things as Sydney and I try not to be friends with anyone less than 20 books. To start with I accepted everyone but now I'm a bit more selective. It's good in a way because you get more updates when you have more friends therefore hopefully you find more books to add to your lists but now that I'm more active in groups I tend to lean on them for my recommendations now.

these i regularly visit, most of them at least once a day :)
I can't say I hated these books but I certainly didn't like them as much as I thought I would from all the hype and they just seemed very "two stars" for me:
The Lovely Bones - there was just something about this book that was lacking, good concept but hm, I don't know, I'm just not sure what all the fuss was about.
The Glass Castle - same, not sure what all the fuss was about, good on her for writing her story but all I can think is there are many, many people in that situation and worse, oh, I don't know, it just wasn't something I'd read again.
Hi there Holli,
I quickly compared books with you and of those in your to read pile here are my suggestions:
* Sail - I read this last week, great, fast, action packed read. I really liked it and his books are just so easy to get through that it shouldn't take up too much time so you can get on with other books.
* My Sister's Keeper - fantastic book, definitely recommend, it was the first book I read by Jodi and I loved it. I have heard some of her books tend to go along the same lines so probably best not to read them all in a row if you were thinking of reading others. I have read others of hers but this book just stays in my mind.
* Year of Wonders - one of my all time favourites, it's right up there with Sister's Keeper although nothing alike. This book is one of the books I regularly recommend to people, it's always one of the first I think about.
* Howard's End - ugh, sorry, not my cup of tea at all, it seemed like a really long read to me and I would probably say don't worry about reading it in the immediate future, you and I have heaps of books in common and I'm just not sure if this would be your cup of tea either. However, if and when you do read it be sure to let me know what you think of it, I'd be really interested.
* Anybody Out There - this one is next on my books to read so hopefully should start it some time this week, I've had loads of recs for this one so fingers crossed it's a goodie.
I hope all that helps and I know how you feel, it just seems like there's too many books out there to read and it's hard to make the right choice what to read next!
