Long time lover of all things Sophie Kinsella - I'm in. I've read all the books and watched the movie already, but I'll definitely put in my 2 cents...
Even though I'm so excited for Holli (and I've told her so) I'm loosing a very good Columbus, Oh friend - even if I knew she wouldn't be here forever...so I'm gonna be the only one to say - BOOOOO! You aren't allowed to leave! LOLAll I have to say is you better get a house with a sweet guest bedroom 'cause I need a place to sleep when I come visit! LOL
I wasn't impressed with Key West (went for my high school graduation though, 12 years ago). I loved Marco Island and Naple though. We spent most of our time on Key Largo, but it rained like 3 days of it so all I remember is inside and being soggy. I've never been to West Palm Beach, but I have heard it is nice. Unless you fly straight to Key West, it's gonna take a long time to drive if you fly into Miami (which we did), it doesn't look that long, but it is, trust me. I'd do West Palm Beach, it will be much more relaxing. Key West is more of a lively place and knowing Brad, I think he'd prefer laid back more.
Ok, my two cents.
You are very welcome Hannah, glad you like it!
This was so much fun. I think we should do it every year - as Shawna stated "Chicks know Chicks" and it's nice to get a gift that I actually like. My boyfriend hasn't figured out yet that gifts should be tailored to the person who's getting the gift's taste, not the gift giver. For example, funny story. My birthday is in the beginning of December so my he thought it would be nice to get my a Christmas tree ornament for my birthday from Hallmark - I don't put up a tree (which he had known about before said gift was bought. And for Christmas he got me a "Precious Moments" Snowglobe. Now, sweet and romantic as that is, I have never collected them, nor am I that kinda girl. Holli can vouge for it. I think she's the one on here that knows me the best. At least I got a good laugh from them.
I just learned a good lesson. Always look in the box before assuming what you received. Shawna, thanks for the coffee, travel mug, body wash and newspaper! Great gift. Will use them a lot! Hope you are doing well and feeling better. Congrats about your first baby!
Hannah, I was your secret chick. I'm so glad you liked your gift! It is a 'Kristen Original". Who knows, it may be worth something some day! Happy Chicks Birthday! Thanks Shawna for my gift! Hopefully soon I'll have a garden to be able to use it in!
I got mine yesterday. I purposedly left it in my car so I wouldn't be tempted to open it in my house! LOL
Tera, I've always wanted to do that too. I never really wanted a job doing it but I want to be a kick-ass baker with all the knowledge that you don't get learning yourself.
Shame on you, Holli! But then again if I had been home this weekend I would have been tempted too. I think I'll have to leave it in my mail box until Saturday so I don't open it!
I, for one, think it's interesting to see where everyone shops. It gives me ideas of other ways to get my hands on a book I want. So what if people like B&N, Amazon and Borders. We shop other places too, they just aren't as ready-available as the big places.
Brianna, why don't you list places you like to get books so we can all go there and maybe change our places we buy books?
I typically got mine from the library (lack of space and I'm cheap), but I recently started Bookmooch.com and now I do most of my "book getting" on there. This way I own the books and I'm getting rid of ones I've read.
Meg, I don't know how you do it. We normally don't get negative degree weather, but last Friday when I went to work it was -12 degrees and I just about died. We had a few days with - degree temps, but that was definitely the worst. If I lived in VT I'd never leave my house!!! LOL
I own:The Myth of You and Me by Leah Stewart
Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult
The History of Love by Nicole Krauss
The Choice by Nicholas Sparks
Everything else on my To Be Read list I don't own - I have "Eat Pay Love" and "Heretic's Daughter" from the library right now.
Holli, I won't let you die of boredom! I'm so happy you did move here and I met you - it makes me get out of the house! LOL
I know how hard it is to make friends in a new city. I found that joining things that interested me helped. Taking classes, joining groups, etc. I've met some pretty awesome people over the last 4 years here, but it did take some time!
This is the first I've heard of "Dear John" movie. I loved the book so much - my favorite one of Sparks, but I'm not sure if the movie is just going to be another downer like "Nights in Rodanthe". But of course, just like any movie based on one of his books, I'll be there watching it the first weekend it comes out! LOL
Oh, I forgot. I read "The Guardian" too! LOL It was good, I had a hard time getting into it, and I hated what happened to the great dane. BOO!
